With the exciting news that we closed yesterday, March 22, with the arrival of the new and long-awaited Counter-Strike 2 based on the Source 2 engine, all fans of Valve’s shooter are eager to try this title. However, the official CS:GO Twitter account posted that the game developers would select who would receive access to this test very well.

Many of us expected to receive it since everything we saw in the videos seemed mind-blowing. Still, a select group of players, especially professionals, will have access to the game. On the other hand, not all famous personalities received access to the game, as the Brazilian star Neymar Jr. did not receive the trial either, so you don’t have to be disappointed.

Valve establishes selection criteria

As we mentioned, the official CS:GO account published the selection criteria for players to be the lucky ones to test the new Counter-Strike 2, where it stands out:

  • Those players with recent times are on Valve’s official servers.
  • The trust factor of the players
  • Steam account statistics

Detailing these three requirements, we can realize that many of us will fail in at least one, the first one. Due to the tick rate that Valve’s official servers have (64 ticks), many players completely abandoned MM, DM, and other CS:GO game modes to play on external servers such as FACEIT, ESEA, and many more.

Therefore, it is unsurprising that many of us have not received the invitation even if we have thousands and thousands of hours of gameplay.

Neymar is excluded from Counter-Strike 2 testing

All of us who follow Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. know he genuinely loves video games, specifically CS:GO. On many occasions, the Brazilian player has sent his support to FURIA Esports since its owner, André Akkari, is a personal friend of the soccer player. On the other hand, we have also seen him streaming from his Twitch or YouTube account on many occasions.

Like all of us, the Brazilian star was also waiting to be selected for the Counter-Strike 2 test. However, it was not the case, and the Brazilian, in a funny way, sent a message on his Twitter account to Valve to send him the invitation.

While several professional athletes spend their free time playing video games, like Javier “Chicarito” Hernandez playing Warzone 2, Neymar Jr. has always been close to the CS:GO scene. On several occasions, he has even been seen playing with different legends such as Richard “shox” Papillon and Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut. In addition, he has shown his absolute admiration for Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyljev.

Who has received the Counter-Strike 2 test?

The vast majority of professional CS:GO players have received the invitation to play Counter-Strike 2, and this is understandable, as they are the ones who can best give feedback to the developers to improve the game for its worldwide release in the summer.

In addition to gamers, it has also been received by different streamers with a lot of renown in the CS:GO scene, who undoubtedly know about it.

In conclusion, if you did not get the invitation for the Counter-Strike 2 trial, you should not be alarmed or disappointed, as many of us are in the same situation. But, unfortunately, we can only wait until the summer and, in the meantime, continue to enjoy CS:GO or CS2 broadcasts when those who have it stream it.
