University esports studies

The esports industry encompasses many aspects and is a vast sector; therefore, some traditional institutions have criticized esports majors with generic degrees. These criticisms are based on the knowledge provided to young people that will not provide the necessary skills to start working in this industry. Therefore, many people now believe this vocational training will not be helpful.

However, many others believe that developing new study opportunities can open many doors for young people looking to make esports a career.

We must still wait to see how this research strategy can advance esports. Although the growth of esports has advanced rapidly, it is still considered a small industry. However, according to a study, this sector in 2021 was valued at $ 1.21 billion.

Syracuse University’s Chief Academic Officer, Gretchen Ritter, believes that providing valuable tools to young students can be of great help in entering a growing field. In addition, the university can provide them with specialized knowledge in crucial areas for esports.

In addition, Gretchen Ritter says that investing in education in fields such as esports will be the key to success in the future.

Every day, more and more educational institutions are betting on providing professional training for young people in esports. Another example of this is The Newhouse School, which, together with Twitch, is launching a course in Esports and Media.

Undoubtedly, education is the best tool for the development of any industry. Therefore, the more universities and educational centers provide tools to students, the more opportunities those who dream of working in esports will have.
