New Noxus Legends of Runeterra Cards Announced, Riven All But Official

A bunch of brand-new Legends of Runeterra cards from Noxus have just been revealed, paving the way for an inevitable Riven release! There isn’t a whole lot for us to unravel, but this is an exciting moment for Noxus fans nonetheless! If anything, it’s foreshadowing the kind of playstyle Riven will employ: brute force. So, without any further ado, let’s get down to business!

Legends of Runeterra | Noxus Card

“Hunt the Weak” is a 2 mana Slow spell from Noxus that’ll make your opponent discard the weakest unit from their hand. Overall, this isn’t the most mind-blowing, meta-defying card in existence, but it’s by no means underpowered. Its potency, however, will often depend on the type of deck you’re facing.

“Brutal Hunter” is a 4 mana unit from Noxus with 3 | 3 and Challenger. Once summoned, it’ll gain Quick Attack for the remainder of the round. This is quite a powerful follower, one that can easily dispose of enemy units at a fairly low cost. That Challenger keyword, combined with Quick Attack, will do wonders in battle!

“Wrathful Rider” is a 5 mana unit from Noxus with 7 | 3 and Challenger. Now, 5 mana crystals is by no means a negligible investment. Still, with a whopping 7 power, “Wrathful Rider” can easily dispose of nearly any unit in the game. That’s pretty much its main purpose. It’s a blunt instrument that’s supposed to take down a key target. Nothing more, nothing less. Pretty much standard fare for Noxus decks!

“Arrel the Tracker” is a 6 mana unit from Noxus with 2 | 5. At the end of each round, if you happened to cast a spell, Arrel will strike the weakest enemy unit. An interesting passive, although nothing too powerful. Still, a good way to clear your opponent’s side of the board.

Closing Remarks

Overall, as stated earlier, we didn’t learn all that much from these particular Noxus cards. That doesn’t mean they’re not exciting, but rather that the most important part of the announcement is still outstanding. If we view these cards in a vacuum, they’re quite enticing (and aggressive). Hopefully such a playstyle will transfer over to Riven as well.
