NEW Minecraft Movie Trailer Has Arrived, Is It Good?

Warner Bros. just released the first trailer for the Minecraft Movie and some are saying it’s horrific while others are calling it incredible. But how exactly is the new movie and what’s the plot about?

Well, for you, we went through the new Minecraft Movie trailer to analyze and give you a review. Spoiler alert: the emotions are mixed. 

New Minecraft Movie Trailer Review

The new Minecraft movie trailer showed us some of the most interesting stars like Jason Momoa and Jack Black. In this one-minute-long trailer, we saw more than what we needed to understand about the movie itself. 

The first thing you need to know is how the movie is built. You see, unlike a full-blown animation one, this one will have actual stars like Jason Momoa, who’s known for his role in Aquaman, and a lot of others. 

After playing the trailer, the thing we noticed was Jason’s new haircut which makes him look cute. Coupled with the pink outfit, the dude is definitely not looking intimidating. With the unique blonde hair and his attire, we bet fans are going to adore his new look.

The second most important thing to know about the new Minecraft movie is the CGI in the movie. Here, we get the extreme green screen CGI and live-action people, it really makes you wonder what was the purpose of putting actual people in the movie.

But that’s where its significance comes in. Instead of looking like a world filled with Minecraft cubes, the new movie will have actual people who are popular. This will ensure bringing fans even if they’re not fully Minecraft lovers because their favorite actors are now in the movie. 

For example, Jack Black’s appearance in the movie is going to get it sold due to his comedic and acting experience. Without any shave or haircut, the movie looks quite unfiltered. What surprised us the most is why Jason Momoa agreed to look like a total weirdo with the wig.

Our Review of the New Minecraft Movie Trailer

We understand that you don’t need to make the most visually appealing or excellent movie to sell to hundreds of thousands of people, ultimately making billions in revenue at the Box Office. That’s just not the focus on this movie.

Rather, it is most probably targeting kids who are fans of live-action movies and LEGO. However, this movie still isn’t the best because it doesn’t specialize in any part. For example, the movie Five Nights at Freddy’s did an amazing job with the visuals.

On the other hands, LEGO movies are known for their vibe, ensuring that the young demographic will fall in love with its art and the storyline. So, when you include the new Minecraft movie into play, the aesthetics just don’t cut it.

But imagine if the movie had more YouTube Minecraft players like xQc, who even broke the speedrun record in the world for Minecraft.

Ten years after the movie was announced, we will get to see its release in around April 2025. The story includes four misfits including The Garbage Man (Jason Momoa), Natalie (Mysters), Henry (Hansen), and Dawn (Brooks). 

All four of them find themselves struggling in this otherworld where things are super odd. Now on a mission to get back home, they must master this world while going on the magical journey with Steve (Jack Black) who is an unexpected expert crafter on their team.

Final Verdict

According to Jared Hess, his live-action movie aims to avoid the ugly Sonic Situation and in his own words, “I just can’t disappoint the 10-year-old, or they’re going to murder us.”
