A bunch of exciting new Legends of Runeterra Cosmic Creation cards have just been revealed! Unlike yesterday, however, there’s nothing particularly groundbreaking or game-changing here. Instead, multiple archetypes and regions are getting supportive cards and, well, that’s about it.

This doesn’t mean there’s nothing to cover or that this announcement isn’t worth your attention. On the contrary! It’s just a slow and subdued overture into yet another champion release (either Riven or Zoe). So, with that short disclaimer out of the way, let’s start with our breakdown!

Legends of Runeterra | Cosmic Creation Cards

Freljord

It That Stares” is an 8 mana unit from Freljord with 8 | 8. Once you play it, it’ll obliterate all landmarks or deal 2 damage to all other units. This is quite a late game behemoth, although it comes at a hefty cost. Whether it’s worth or not still remains to be seen.

The Scargrounds” is a 3 mana landmark from Freljord and a very interesting effect. Once an ally survives damage, it’ll gain +1 | 0 and Tough. Overall, as far as landmarks go, this one is quite potent. The fact that it’ll provide more power to your units is great and all, but that Tough keyword is what really seals the deal.

Ionia

Monastery of Hirana” is a 3 mana landmark from Ionia. At the start of each round, you’ll get a “Sanctuary” in hand.

Sanctuary” is a 1 mana Burst spell that’s also Ethereal. It’ll allow you to Recall an ally, but it can’t be cast during combat or in response to a spell.

Homecoming” is a 5 mana Fast spell from Ionia. It’ll recall an ally unit (or landmark) and then recall an enemy unit (or landmark) in response. Overall, quite a potent tool to balance the board out come late game.

Bilgewater

Wiggly Burblefish” is a 6 mana unit with 3 | 1 and the Elusive keyword. Its cost is reduced by 1 for each spell you’ve cast throughout the game. So, frankly, you’ll be able to play it for cheap (or even free) come mid game. Once you summon it, you’ll get a 1 cost spell from your region(s) in hand. A pretty powerful unit all things considered. It’s not exactly a particularly potent brawler, but seeing how it won’t cost much it’s definitely a welcome addition.

Boomship” is a 3 mana Slow spell from Bilgewater. Once you play it, it’ll deal 1 damage to a unit and then summon Powder Kegs equal to the amount of damage dealt.

Closing Remarks

Overall, Freljord and Ionia have definitely received a noticeable buff support-wise. These cards aren’t overly powerful but that doesn’t mean they won’t become popular upon release. On the contrary! “Homecoming” and “Sanctuary” have a ton of potential, and the same goes for “The Scargrounds.” They’ll surely end up as strong additions in today’s most potent decks.

Either way, you can expect another batch of exciting new cards tomorrow night, followed by a champion reveal the day after! As always, stay tuned for more coverage!
