Recent leaks from acknowledged sources in the community suggest that Genshin Impact will feature new skins for Neuvillette and Chongyun during the Lantern Rite event in the coming days. These leaks, posted by DK2 and hxg and written about by Beebom, have since created a lot of conversations in the fandom as people wait for official confirmation from HoYoverse.
Neuvillette & Chongyun Skins Leaked for Genshin Impact Lantern Rite Skins

Per these leaks, the next Lantern Rite is set to include two new skins, one for Neuvillette, the Hydro judge of Fontaine, and the other for Chongyun, the Liyue exorcist. The Lantern Rite generally features special cosmetics, special quests, and rewards consistent with the Lunar New Year celebrations, making Lantern Rite one of the biggest updates of the year. Chongyun’s skin is said to be the event’s free cosmetic, which will be earned through in-game participation similar to previous free skins during the Lantern Rite event. Neuvillette’s skin will instead be available through the in-game shop as a premium skin. This trend will continue, where one skin is free and earned during the event, and one skin is paid for.
The Importance of Lantern Rite and Possible Additions

Lantern Rite has cemented itself in Genshin Impact as an annual event and lore element surrounding Liyue, featuring it has added to the event’s story, lore, and time-limited items from previous events. Each lantern rite also features a rotation of both old and new characters, as observed in previous years, and by the looks of the new leaks that have been provided, we can expect a mix of both familiar characters as well as fully designed new characters.
In addition to skins, the leaks also mention a new four-star character, which was speculated to be the character codenamed “White Horse Adeptus”. While details around this character are also scarce, early speculation has tied this character to the lore in Teyvat, possibly referencing the “Ruler of Time” or aspects of the Shades lore. This particular aspect of the leak, again, has less integrity and should be viewed as such until we have information to verify what is presented in the beta or by HoYoverse.
Legitimacy and what to expect
As with every Genshin Impact leak, we are abounding with speculation until confirmed, as stated by HoYoverse. Internationally, the development team has a history of redesigning characters before release and then pushing those new designs before their final version goes to the public, meaning by the time character designs are live, they will likely remain similar in appearance but not in model. Therefore, again, if we are being honest and reporting accurately, if Neuvillette and Chongyun skins are included in the next Lantern Rite, then both designs will provide visual variety and excitement about the process of the next event, things that make Genshin Impact – Genshin Impact.
