After very worrying results for the team led by electroNic, NaVi has decided to make one of the most awaited changes by the fans regarding its starting lineup to start the 2023 season.

Ukrainian player Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev will no longer be part of the team’s roster for the 2023 season after a long season as a replacement for one of the best IGLs we have seen in this game, Boombl4.

NaVi announced this with a short video on Twitter

As we have become accustomed to in recent times, the different esports organizations usually make public announcements through the social network Twitter.

This time has been no exception, as NaVi has thanked sdy for his vital work in 2022, and, in addition, they fired him with the famous phrase “Once NAVI, Always NAVI.”

There is still no permanent replacement in NaVi’s starting lineup

We don’t know exactly which player will permanently replace Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev in NaVi.

Esports organizations have founded their academies in recent years, which has helped them develop young talent and have a bench of sorts when they need it in the starting lineup.

So, this is what the organization will do to start the 2023 season, as they have decided to use their academy player, Andrii “npl” Kukharskyi, for the team’s starting lineup to be a full-time player at IEM Katowice 2023 and other January events.

Recall that npl has already played some significant tournaments with NaVi’s first team, as he played the BLAST Premier World Final 2022 and earned a 0.67 rating on the three maps he played.

NaVi does not want to sign Russian players

The Ukrainian organization has avoided signing Russian players at all costs since Russia began its invasion of Ukraine on February 24. That is why they are focusing on their player academy.

NaVi’s academy is full of Ukrainian players; some could become part of the primary team if the organization wants to emulate what MOUZ has done this season.

While it is true that sdy did not come to NaVi to take over the IGL position, he had a supporting role during his time in this important organization. This brought a lot of controversy among fans, as he stood out as a passive and reserved player, contrary to what s1mple and b1t constantly demonstrate.

Ukrainian sdy played throughout 2022 with NaVi in eight official tournaments. This season, the team could only win the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2022 and second place at the IEM Cologne 2022.
