With only a few days into the competition, NAVI and G2 qualified for the ESL Pro League 20 Playoffs. This was actually foreseen when NAVI and G2 won their opening games and are among the first-round playoff teams in the ESL Pro League S20.
NAVI has experienced unproblematic running, finishing their run without losing a single map except with a brief setback during a single overtime against Lynn Vision.
But they ultimately came out on top in their LV and NIP matchups. Navi showed a strong start to their ESL Pro League Season 20 performance, as they defeated the Chinese squad Lynn Vision 2 to 0.
In their first Group A encounter, NAVI demonstrated their willingness to fight through the competition. Moreover, in Navi’s team, B1t’s performance on the second map was especially remarkable. B1t had a 9.0 rating at the end of the match.
He was one of the main players that helped NAVI win 13-4 on the second map. His performance in this round—20 kills, 5 deaths, and 4 assists—was crucial to the team’s victory as a whole.
Not to be understated is iM’s incredible performance, as he ended up becoming this match’s MVP with 41 kills, 29 deaths, and a +12 difference. iM established itself as a dependable player on both maps and became an important part of NAVI’s strategy.
G2’ Performance ESL Pro League 20
Meanwhile, things have become a little more difficult for G2. They had an easy 2:0 opening match against KOI, but they needed a reverse sweep to defeat 3DMAX and malbsMd so m0NESY had to step up to save the day.
It has been a crucial game for both teams G2 and 3DMAX. G2 is trying to guarantee their spot in the playoffs, while 3DMAX is trying to prove themselves following a run of strong outings.
This tournament will put all teams’ consistency, strategy, and individual skill to the test as a postseason position is at stake.
Despite having one of the strongest rosters in CS2, G2 has struggled with consistency. They had a great start to the season, making it to the Esports World Cup 2024 finals.
However, they faltered in IEM Cologne 2024, where MOUZ eliminated them in the playoffs. But G2 recovered in ESL Pro League Season 20, defeating KOI 2-0 and displaying glimmers of their potential.
Playoffs Players On Bracket Finals
Until finally, both NAVI and G2 qualified for the ESL Pro League 20 playoffs. Other teams like Eternal Fire, and MIBR respectively joined NAVI and G2 in the Upper Bracket Finals. All four teams have already punched their tickets to the Playoffs.
Along with NAVI and G2 being qualified for ESL Pro 20 playoffs, 32 teams participated in the group stage. This stage featured a triple-elimination bracket style with best-of-three matches for each group.
Each group’s top four teams advance to the playoff bracket. The champions of each group will go directly to the quarterfinals of the playoffs.
The teams in second and third place go to the Round of 12, and the teams in fourth and third place will go to the Round of 16. Up until the best-of-five grand final on September 22, the playoff bracket will be a single-elimination match.
In addition to the $170,000 prize, the winner will earn a spot in the inaugural ESL Pro Tour Championship in 2025.
