M80 thoroughly destroyed Disguised in the NA Valorant Challengers League’s week 4 matchup to end their potential postseason hopes. With their fourth straight loss this split, G2 in Group B suffered similar repercussions after losing a key match to FaZe. Here is how the matches unfolded:

M80 destroys Disguised’s playoff hopes:

On the first map, Haven, the team got off to a flying start, cruising to an early 4-1 lead thanks to the momentum set off by the pistol round victory. Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker and company quickly repaired the damage, putting on their four-round streak to get an edge over the fierce M80.

Before halftime, both sides traded a few more rounds, leaving the score tied at 6-6. After a dull first half, M80 picked up steam in the second half when Mouhamed “johnqt” Ouarid took up the team’s fragging duties. Before Disguised could attempt a comeback, M80 managed to establish a six-round winning streak, closing the map with a 13-7 victory.

While fans expected Disguised to do better on the second map, the team once more failed to stop M80, this time on their own map pick, Lotus. Disguised did put on an impressive result for a few rounds after falling behind 0-4, but M80 recovered and ended the first half with a 7-5 advantage. M80 maintained its lead throughout the second half and convincingly finished the game 13-6 to dash yay and Disguised’s hopes of a playoff spot.

G2 is down 0-4 with a disappointing defeat against FaZe Clan:

G2 chose Ascent to open the series, but despite winning the pistol round, the team struggled to keep up. FaZe took the lead early on (4-1) and held it throughout the first half, despite losing a few rounds here and there. The squad maintained its dominance in the second half, pounding G2 back and forth before ultimately winning the map 13-5.

G2’s struggle finally come to an end on the second map as they managed to breeze past FaZe’s defense to establish a massive 8-0 lead. Even though FaZe managed to win three rounds before halftime, the lead still seemed to be a steep mountain to climb. G2 clinched two more rounds to take the lead to 11-4 before Andrej “babybay” Francisty stole the spotlight and ignited FaZe’s comeback attempt, which saw the team decrease the deficit to 8-11.

On the pivotal map Split, FaZe’s babybay kept on dominating, and this time, his fellow teammate Phat “supamen” Le strongly aided his efforts. The pair kept G2’s fraggers in check, giving FaZe enough opportunities to establish a comfortable 9-3 lead. Without making any mistakes, FaZe clinched four consecutive rounds in the second half to close out the map with a 13-3 victory. With this loss, G2’s dreams of making the playoffs are completely gone as they are now 0-4 down in the points standings.
