MPL PH Season 16 Playoffs: Teams & Storylines

The playoffs for the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 16 begin on October 22, 2025, at the Cuneta Astrodome in Pasay City. After the regular season, six teams will compete not only for the championship trophy but also to represent the Philippines at the M7 World Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Aurora Gaming (RORA) topped the regular season standings with a 13-1 record. After a difficult early exit last season despite finishing with a record of 12-2, RORA looks to bounce back with a good playoff run. ONIC Philippines (ONIC) has been consistently competitive, finishing second in the regular season. Although some unexpected losses to underdog teams like Twisted Minds PH and AP Bren were not ideal, ONIC hopes to rely on experience and remain steady through the playoffs.

Team Liquid PH (TLPH), champs of MSC 2025, will be competing not only for the MPL PH trophy but also for a chance at M7. Note, Kiel “Oheb” Soriano made the transition from supporting player to lane dominator. TLPH will have its first playoff game against FLCN on October 22.

Twisted Minds PH (TWIS) is a formidable underdog in the playoffs. They have defeated some of the top teams, like FLCN and ONIC, and have come extremely close to defeating TLPH. All three core players are rookies, and the team’s goal is to make a deep playoff run with Miguel “Sionnn” Alcantara, Mico “Nosia” Guevarra, and John Carlo “Caloy” Roma as their main players.

TNC Pro Team (TNC) or “The Phoenix,” presents a fresh roster with the notable addition of Joshua “Ch4knu” Mangilog from Smart Omega. After the poor performance in the previous season, which resulted in an early finish in the playoffs, it is hoped that the new lineup will enable the team to go further in the playoffs this year.

Team Falcons PH (FLCN) endured a rough, important stage of the regular season, culminating with eight matches in a row without a win, but were still able to clinch the last and final playoff position. The team had also beaten both ONIC and TLPH the week before and will be seen as a possible team to watch, boasting momentum.

Playoff Format and Where to Watch

The MPL PH Season 16 Playoffs will follow a hybrid elimination format, with the two top seeds, RORA and ONIC, in the upper bracket and the other four teams playing as play-ins. The playoffs take place from October 22 to October 26, 2025.
