Format
During the regular season, each team will play in a double round-robin format. This means that there will be a total of 8 weeks of games and every match will be a best of three series. There’s also a new twist in MPL PH Season 14 in the scoring system.
If a team wins in a match, they will get one point whether they win 2-0 or 2-1. Losing teams don’t get any points no matter the final score.
The top 6 teams after the regular season will qualify for the playoffs. This will get even more intense because after competing for a regular season, the winners will automatically be qualified for the play off stage.
The team ranked 3rd to 6th will start in a single-elimination bracket. This means that, if they lose then they are automatically out.
However, teams who ranked 1st and 2nd will get a special treat. They don’t have to play in the first round, instead they go straight into the double elimination to give them a chance if they lose.
All matches are best of five, this means that a team needs to win three games to win the match. However, the final two matches in the lower bracket final and grand final are even more important, which are best of seven, so a team needs to win to be crowned champion.
