Nathan ‘NBK-‘ Schmitt has been dismissed after two months with MOUZ’s CS:GO team and will be replaced by Jon ‘JDC’ de Castro. NBK- did not see this decision coming and was caught off guard by the change.

German team MOUZ announced on March 18 that they have promoted Academy player Jon “JDC” de Castro to the team’s main roster. At the same time, NBK- will be benched. He was with the German organization for just two months. The decision came after the fourth place in the ESL Pro League Group A. There, MOUZ won only two of its five group matches, beating LookingForOrg and G2, but losing to Ninjas in Pyjamas, Fnatic and Entropiq.

NBK- surprised by change

The 27 year old NBK- probably didn’t see this change coming. He expressed frustration that he was replaced so quickly. On Twitter he wrote, “I’ve never been so confused about such an unfair and hasty decision.”

NBK- participated with MOUZ only in the ESL Pro League and IEM Katowice. Before joining MOUZ, the Frenchman played VALORANT, where he was only moderately successful. So he decided to return to his original game, CS:GO, where he used to have great success. NBK- will first need time to get his bearings and see how things will go for him: “I will relax in the next few days to get some rest, and then start streaming individual training”.

JDC will replace NBK-

Head coach Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen said he knows “it’s hard for Nathan, but we strongly believe in the positive impact of Jon’s promotion.” Commenting on the change, he also said, “After a disappointing EPL, the focus is now on the RMR. We have decided that JDC’s attitude, positivity and communication will be vital to the team going forward.” The PGL Major Antwerp EU RMR A will take place from April 17 to 20.

The 21-year-old JDC joins the main team from the Academy lineup MOUZ NXT. JDC said that this change is a big jump in his career and that he is very grateful for the opportunity.

With JDC on the team, MOUZ now has the following line-up:

  • Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás
  • David “frozen” Čerňanský
  • Christopher “Dexter” Nong
  • Aurimas “Bymas” Pipiras
  • Jon “JDC” de Castro
  • Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt (Bench)
  • Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen (Coach)
