MOUZ tries its luck at VALORANT

More and more European teams are putting together a team for VALORANT and MOUZ is no exception. Already last year MOUZ announced that they would eventually add a VALORANT line-up to their teams. And that happened faster than anyone thought. Jan Dominicus, MOUZ’s chief business development officer, said last fall that VALORANT was a good fit for MOUZ:

“We have a strong heritage in FPS games and a lot of experience in the genre. Combined with the exciting lineup we’ve assembled and the promising route RIOT Games has announced for the game, I can’t wait for our adventures in VALORANT to begin.”

International Line-up

For the VALORANT lineup, the German organization has brought in two ex-players from Liquid and the Heretics. Overall, the line-up is international. The first name to pop up in the announcement is former Team Liquid controller James “Kryptix” Affleck, who was last seen playing with Liquid during the Stage 3 EMEA Challengers Playoffs. Shortly after, Kryptix made the decision to leave the team. The reasons for this are not known, but it is known that it had nothing to do with the game itself. With Kryptix, the VALORANT-MOUZ line-up gets the necessary experience and expertise.

The German team also includes a German player and that is Felix “al0rante” Brandl, an ex-Heretics player. Al0rante joins his Heretics teammate Amine “Amilwa” Saidi after playing a short stint with the Spanish organization. The team had mixed results, but Al0rante proved to be an effective slayer.  The lineup is completed by Briton Joseph “Luzuh” Loose and Frenchman Laurent “memset” Werly.  Both players were previously with Team Rix.GG Thunder, but it was recently disbanded.

Here are the players again for MOUZ’s new VALORANT lineup:

  • Felix ‘al0rante’ Brandl
  • James ‘Kryptix’ Afflec
  • Laurent ‘memset’ Werly
  • Joseph ‘Luzuh’ Loose
  • Amine ‘Amilwa’ Saidi

The new VALORANT lineup will play together for the first time at the VRL DACH Evolution Stage 1, which kicks off on Tuesday, February 15. If they win the tournament, they will earn a spot in the VCT EMEA Challengers promotion along next to the other regional champions. The lineup even already has a sponsor. Hamburg-based insurance company HanseMerkur will feature its logo on the players’ jerseys.
