Mobile Legends’ 8th anniversary is just around the corner, and cool new skins are bound to make it better! Along with this exciting event, the upcoming patch 1.9.20 features new game modes that would bring a new spice to how rank games are played. Four heroes, including the new assassin Suyou, would also receive adjustments to ensure a balanced gaming experience.
A New Flavor in Rank With Battlefield Draft
The Battlefield Draft is a map modifier that will give buffs or mechanics changes during rank matches. This event is available for players in the epic rank and higher. The aim of Battlefield Draft is to spice up how matches are played, as this will greatly increase the possible strategies and playstyle.
Buckle up for this update because rank games are about to be extra fun! Some of the modifiers include Fortified, Eye of Tempest, Eternal Strength, Rapid Response, Everlasting Turtle, River Surge, Super Entourage, Healing Turret, and Lord’s Aura.
The New Assassin, Suyou
The 1.9.20 patch notes also introduce Suyou, an assassin that specializes in mobility, AOE burst, and survivability. Mobile Legends’ 126th hero will be released on September 21, 2024.
This hero represents the whole update theme of vast strategic gameplay thanks to his skill set that has different effects when they are tapped or held. This makes him one of the most versatile heroes in the game, capable of adapting to the battlefield’s flow depending on how the player sees fit.
Suyou’s Skills and Abilities
Suyou keeps various powerful abilities in his arsenal. His passive, Transient Immortal, allows Suyou to switch between his mortal and immortal form. His mortal form grants him a boost in movement speed while his immortal form increases both his damage and durability in exchange of cooldown reduction.
His first skill is called Blade Surge. Tapping this skill allows Suyou to toss his weapon then blink to its location while dishing out a damaging combo. Holding the skill will make him perform a charging attack that stuns the enemies upon impact.
Tapping Soul Sever, his second skill, sends a backward moving slash in a fan-shape that deals heavy damage. Hold this skill to perform three cleave attacks that deal massive damage on the final cleave which also heals Suyou.
Suyou’s ultimate, Evil Queller, unleashes an incantation that damages in a rectangular area and slows enemies down upon tapping. Holding this skill makes him tap into his immortal power to shoot a powerful arrow to a target.
Fixed Bugs and Hero Adjustments
The bug with Edith’s passive not working properly during her ultimate has been dealt with, however, since she already dish a lot of damage—the magic power bonus is reduced.
Lukas receives a buff adjustment for his skill 1 and 2 to improve his performance. His first skill now stuns instead of the airborne effect at max stack of his combo. His second skill now deals higher damage making him a hero to look out for.
Suyou’s minor bug has been fixed and his first skill got a slight buff which now stuns instead of the airborne effect when hold-casting.
Lastly, an adjustment on the hero that gets banned almost all the time for her powerful crowd control and damage, Zhuxin. Her second skill can now snare enemies with less mana but in exchange, her base mana is reduced greatly.
Introduction of New Skins
According to the patch notes, there will be two new skins for the heroes Paquito and Suyou. Paquito’s M5 FMVP skin, “Fist of Glory”, will release on September 19, 2024 and will have a 30% discount for its first week. Meanwhile, Suyou “Venerated Vigilance” will be available for only 51 diamonds for the first two weeks after its release on September 21.
In addition, two events will offer Brody and Lunox skins for a limited time.
- Brody “APBren”: Available from September 19 – November 2, 2024. 60% off for a limited time
- Lunox “Libra”: Returns on September 23, 2024. 30% off for the first week
