MOONTON Games has announced an exciting overhaul of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), introducing a revamped equipment system and a host of other updates as part of their Project NEXT initiative.

In a press release, the MLBB developers say that both casual players and hardcore esports fans can look forward to a slew of new features designed to enhance gameplay, optimize the meta, and is expected to create a more dynamic and immersive experience.

Project NEXT is an annual in-game campaign that takes place every June, aimed at sharing details about upcoming gameplay optimizations and balancing changes based on player feedback. This initiative, MOONTON says, aims to make a significant impact on both casual and hardcore players, offering an enriched gaming experience that stands out in the MOBA genre.

WHAT TO EXPECT

One of the major highlights of this update is the comprehensive revamp of the equipment system. Players will experience a more fluid and dynamic playstyle with the introduction of a new adaptive attribute. This change allows for greater diversity among heroes, freeing them from strict equipment optimizations and offering more flexible gameplay options. This principle follows the successful emblem revamp from last year.

All hero roles will receive further optimization, with specialized equipment available for the next MLBB hero. Additionally, MOONTON says merged effects and adjustments to purchasing equipment will streamline the experience for newcomers, making it easier for those just starting their MLBB journey.

MOONTON also adds that the revamped system promises to challenge even the most seasoned ranked players. Adjustments to each lane will create new match patterns, benefiting certain heroes and resulting in more flexible maneuvers. For instance, the updated Thunder Belt equipment will allow the next Basic Attack to deal additional true damage based on Hybrid Defense to the target and surrounding units. Hitting enemy heroes will permanently increase Hybrid Defense, adding a strategic layer to gameplay.

MLBB is also set to introduce a new hero, described as a mysterious and beautiful maiden with the ability to grant wishes. This peerless and enchanting hero, still unnamed, is expected to have a significant impact on teamfights, bringing a fresh dynamic to the game.

With over 1.4 billion installations and 105 million monthly active users, MLBB is one of the top mobile MOBA games with a global footprint. The game has thriving communities in Southeast Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia, making it accessible and enjoyable for players around the world. As a pioneer in the esports arena, MLBB continues to push boundaries with community-focused leagues and innovative updates.

The Project Next MLBB update will be ready for both iOS and Android users via the App Store and Google Play Store by June 19th.
