MLBB: Edward, Wise leave Blacklist International

fragster Paolo 5. July 2024

Two more key players of Blacklist International MLBB esports have announced their departure from the storied esports squad.

Danerie James “Wise” del Rosario and Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap are now the most recent departures from the Codebreakers, a day after Johnmar “OhMyV33nus” Villaluna and Kenneth Carl “Yue” Tadeo have said they are leaving the black-and-white after several MPL Philippines seasons.

Wise: “I’m bouncing, bosses – thanks for all”

Through a joke resignation letter, Wise simply said he’s leaving the Codebreakers.

“Bounce na ako mga ssob @Blacklist International, matsala sa all [EN: I’m bouncing, bosses – thanks for all],” the M3 World Champion jungler said.

Earlier, the Queen referenced her and Wise’s wins as part of the Codebreakers. The “Royal Duo” won the M3 World Championship in 2021 and carried Blacklist International to three MPL Philippines titles (Season 7, Season 8 and Season 10). They’ve also represented the Philippines as part of its national esports team SIBOL and won gold medals in regional Mobile Legends: Bang Bang action.

Most recently, VeeWise have also dabbled in businesses outside of their pro player careers, having created the VeeWise sari-sari store which sells various VeeWise merchandise.

After Season 11 though, VeeWise took a break from the competitive MLBB scene and did not play in both Season 12 and in the just-concluded Season 13, after which, they focused on content creation and playing other game titles.

Edward: “This isn’t goodbye for now, just see you later.”

On the other hand, Edward had been with Blacklist International since Season 5 – and had been nicknamed “Agent Zero” for his amazing performances in the Land of Dawn.

However, the now-Hall of Legends inductee has said, it’s time to move on.

“Now, I’m ready for the next chapter of my life, where I can grow personally and professionally. I’m excited to collaborate with new people who share my goals and determination,” hinting at where he wants or intends, to go next.

“To my teammates, thanks for all the memories. I will forever cherish our bond. Good luck to our chosen paths. To our fans, thanks for the unwavering support, and I hope you’ll continue to support me in my future ventures,” Edward said, ending his statement saying that this “isn’t goodbye for now, just see you later. Agent Zero, signing off.”

Edward has long been a workhorse for Blacklist International and had proved his prowess in winning the three MPL Philippines titles of the organization, as well as the M3 World Championship alongside VeeWise, Salic “Hadji” Imam, and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano.

More bleeding and fallout for Blacklist International MLBB?

The fallout of the departure of these players may mean something deeper, as Blacklist only has Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse, Stephen “Sensui” Castillo, Hadji and Oheb left in the team, as well as Mark “Eson” Gerardo and Kim “Kimpoy” Dela Cruz.

As Wise and Edward join OhMyV33nus and Yue in leaving the team, the question now remains: what will happen to Blacklist International now that its star players have left?
