More new shockers in the global esports scene continue as international organizations continue to scout Mobile Legends: Bang Bang talent.
Filipino M4 World Champions ECHO and their brother unit in Indonesia, AURA, has just announced their partnership with esports juggernaut, Team Liquid.
Both teams have now officially rebranded as Team Liquid ECHO and Team Liquid AURA.
“Coming in with a different hue, bidding purple goodbye and welcoming blue. From the waves of the sea, we rise. Together from water, we’ll make bigger tides,” Liquid ECHO announced on the caption of its roster reveal.
In an exclusive interview with ALL-STAR Magazine’s Mario “Abo” Limos, Team Liquid ECHO’s country manager, Mitch Liwanag, said that Liquid was approaching the team since 2023 and had the deal finalized this year, in time for the Esports World Cup in Saudi Arabia.
“They have the same values as us, they have the same values as our CEO. I felt the same way about them as I did when I first met with AURA when they were trying to buy out our team, Sunsparks,” Liwanag told ALL-STAR.
She adds, “they made time for us to listen to our goals and our future plans, and we gave them suggestions. They also care a lot about the players, which is the reason why AURA and ECHO also agreed to the partnership with Team Liquid. It’s because they have the same values, goals, and mission as us.”
Liwanag also added that the partnership means not just a professional success, but also a personal one.
“I was manifesting Team Liquid in 2020. When we started as AURA, I would always look at the posts of Team Liquid. I would always look at their photos and jerseys, and I would always check their website. I said to myself that someday, we will also be as big as Team Liquid. I never expected it would come true!” Liwanag told ALL-STAR Magazine.
Liwanag also confirmed that at least for Team Liquid ECHO, nothing will change in terms of personnel, rosters, and management. Team Liquid ECHO is one of the more prominent teams in the Philippines known for promoting player care.
Team Liquid ECHO has also received major sponsorships by virtue of their new partnership: Alienware, Monster Energy, and Honda, alongside a local partnership with PH drugstore chain, Watson’s.
Team Liquid ECHO will kick off their MPL Philippines Season 13 playoffs campaign on May 23rd against RSG Philippines.
