Cloud9 Esports has officially entered the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang esports scene.
In an announcement posted on its social media June 12th, Cloud9 Esports announced they are entering the MLBB scene by acquiring the BloodThirstyKings or BTK roster, led by star jungler Michael “MobaZane” Cosgun, gold laner Peter Bryce “Basic” Lozano, roamer Chris “Cole World” Cartagenas, midlaner Marco “Marqt” Lacson, and exp laner Chris “Mielow” Enobio.
They will be coached by MPL Philippines analyst Neil “Midnight” de Guzman and Sir Rose.
After the acquisition from BTK, Cloud9 Esports will officially be part of the 2024 Mid-Season Cup as the representatives from North America. BTK previously won the 2024 North American Challenger Tournament or NACT Spring 2024 tournament held in Las Vegas.
Cloud9 has also doubled down on its participation in MLBB and will field their women’s squad, composed of female players named Nicholette, JEWEL, Ashlay, Stella., and CxZPanda.
The women’s team will also be coached by both Midnight and Sir Rose.
Cloud9 is one of 30 teams selected for the Esports World Cup Club Support Program, which gives teams a one-time six-figure stipend if an organization is willing to enter new esports as well as additional funding each year if they drive viewership and fan engagement to the Esports World Cup.
Cloud9 Esports’ Starcraft II team will also be playing in the Esports World Cup. The organization also fields teams in CS2, League of Legends, and Apex Legends, but the latter three did not qualify for the EWC.
