After failing to live up to expectations at the last CDL Major III, the Minnesota RØKKR have decided to bench one of their star players, Dillon “Attach” Price.

This is a sign that the organization is moving as fast as possible to create a powerful line-up that will allow them to perform better in the next Major IV that is about to begin. However, this news is still surprising, as Attach was one of the best players on the team.

Minnesota RØKKR benches Attach for CDL Major IV Qualifiers

On Tuesday, March 28, the Minnesota RØKKKR announced that Atach, their star player, was benched. They also announced that Kevin “Fame” Bonanno, an amateur player, will replace him.

After finishing third place in the CDL Major II, Minnesota underperformed dreadfully for Major III. The RØKKR failed to win any of the five matches they played in the online qualifiers and, in the main event, lost all maps to LA Thieves.

After this terrible result, the organization changed its line-up and allowed an academy (and amateur) player like Fame.

About Attach

First, we should note that Attach became the youngest player in COD history to win a world championship, as he did in 2015 at 18. In addition, Attach was a player widely known for mastering SMGs to perfection, but in the Call of Duty: Vanguard era, the player transitioned to AR.

On the other hand, Attach was one of the top CDL players in 2022. In addition, he finished third in the statistics concerning K/D with 1.20. However, in this 2023 season, we can notice that his performance has dropped slightly in the Search&Destroy game mode, but he holds his own and even outperforms several of his teammates in Control and Hardpoint.

About Fame

Fame has the complicated task of debuting in the top tier in the Call of Duty scene, trying to replace a popular and good player like Attach. On top of that, he needs to be one of the pillars of his team so that they can get out of the eight consecutive losing streak they are currently on.

In Modern Warfare 2, Fame has been one of the most promising players in the RØKKR academy. In his short time with MWII, Fame led his team to win the Call of Duty Challengers 2023 – Elite 1: NA and took second place in the Call of Duty Challengers 2022: Boston Open.

Future of the RØKKR

There is no doubt that from now on, RØKKR will have to play extremely well to secure their victories in every single match. This is because they are in eighth place in the overall CDL table, only 20 points ahead of the Las Vegas Legion. Also, let’s remember that only the top eight teams at the end of the season (in terms of points on the table) will qualify for Call of Duty: Champions 2023 at the end of the season. Therefore, from this point on, every game for RØKKR has to be played as a grand final.

The RØKKKR line-up is as follows:

  • Marcus “Afro” Reid
  • Benjamin “Bance” Bance
  • Cameron “Cammy” McKilligan
  • Kevin “Fame” Bonanno
  • Dillon “Attach” Price – Substitute

The new RØKKR line-up debuts next Saturday, April 1, 2023, when they take on the Florida Mutineers in the first game of the CDL Major IV Qualifiers.
