Minana EVOS’ first-ever run in the MPL-PH Season 13 Playoffs came to an abrupt end but not without a fight.

The White Tigers were able to stretch the opening Playoffs match to a game 5, stunning both the crowd and analysts who were expecting a quick fight. Eventually, Blacklist International prevailed, 3-2.

The Codebreakers opened up the game to a nearly 19-minute classic as Edward Jay “Edward” Dapadap led Blacklist to an opening victory with his time-tested Benedetta pick.

However, the White Tigers cruised handily and made quick adjustments to their gameplay, thanks to both quick offense and the floor leadership of Brian “SpiderMilez” Santos that helped Minana win Game 2 in under 14 minutes.

By Game 3, Blacklist was able to regain back the momentum, no thanks to the calm and collected plays and lord steals of Stephen “Sensui” Castillo in a 19:31 thriller.

However, Minana EVOS’ Jan Dominic “Domeng” Del Mundo’s Lesley pick made the difference and scored multiple hits on several Blacklist International players, forcing a game stretch to a do-or-die round.

By Game 5, a late-game Lord steal by Blacklist’s Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo’s Pharsa pick was all it took to crumble the offense of Minana EVOS, and keep Blacklist International’s playoff hopes alive.

Along with it was a recoded Ultimate Bonding Experience or UBE Strategy – something Minana EVOS used initially against Blacklist and won them the term “fighting healers”. However, Minana failed to get kills in the first few minutes of game 5, allowing Blacklist to get map control and even reach a 10,000-point gold-lead to deny Minana any jungle objectives.

Minana EVOS ended their season with a 6-8 win-loss record.
