MIBR has become the latest CS:GO team to add a sixth player to its roster, with the organization having announced the signing of Raphael “exit” Lacerda. The Brazilian joins from Shark Esports, where he had been since 2017. The 24-year-old will reunite with former teammate Daniel “danoco” Morgado, who arrived at MIBR earlier in 2021.

Why MIBR Added a Sixth Player to Its Ranks

It has been revealed that MIBR will test exit in place of Danoco in all maps, with the duo being part of a roster led by former Sharks coach Helder “coachi” Sancho. MIBR announced that they would be heading in a new direction back in January, with exit being the first signing since then. The team has had to deal with a host of departures over the last 12 months, including key coaches. Fernando “fer” Alvarenga remains unsigned following his departure, while Epitacio “TACO” de Melo and Gabriel “FalleN” Toledo are now with GODSENT and Team Liquid respectively.

MIBR made some new permanent signings, as well as some loan acquisitions, in order to compete in the latter stages of last year. However, they were unable to keep hold of such pros, meaning that further changes were once again needed. A new lineup featured in the early stages od this year, however they could only manage a third place finish in their summit_7 group, before losing to Cloud9 in their last-chance tie.

How Has MIBR Fared at Recent CS:GO Tournaments?

Ricardo “boltz” Prass was the only player to have previously played for MIBR, having initially joined in June 2018. However, the former Major winner was ultimately benched after just one month. The team also failed to make any impact at the BLAST Spring. MIBR were eliminated at Katowice following two straight defeats, with even a 2-0 win over Fnatic not lifting their spirits.

However, the arrival of exit will certainly come as welcome news for MIBR fans. His experience and skill will be a major asset, while his flexibility will also come in handy on different maps. The Brazilian is set to make his debut for the team at the BLAST Spring Showdown, a 16-team elimination bracket where only two will progress to the Spring Finals.
