There appear to be more hints about the existence of an Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag remake.

Pure Arts, a company that makes figurines based on game characters, recently broadcast a livestream in which various figurines based on Assassin’s Creed characters were unveiled. However, a figurine of Edward Kenway from Black Flag was missing.

One of the presenters indicated that there was a good reason why there was no figurine of Edward. Shortly afterwards, confusion arose: another presenter asked if “it had already been announced,” to which the other presenter replied, “I think so, I think I saw rumors about it. No, I definitely saw an article about it.”

Insider Gaming then confirmed that Pure Arts and other companies are already working on merchandise for the Black Flag remake, and that this was the source of the confusion among the presenters.

Officially, a remake of one of the most acclaimed installments in the AC series has not yet been announced, but rumors have been circulating for several years. Earlier this year, Insider Gaming claimed that it is one of nine games in the series currently in development.

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag was released in 2013 and was the first main installment in the series to place less emphasis on stealth. The pirate setting—the game is set in the Caribbean in the 18th century—was well received. In addition to exploring islands, players also had a ship at their disposal, which could be used not only to travel to other areas, but also to engage in naval battles.
