Matcherino x Brawl Stars Update Brings New Pins, Prize Pools, and Open Tournaments

fragster James Steward 16. June 2025

Coming this July 1, Matcherino’s going to fully revamp how Brawl Stars tournaments work. The updated format is gonna make things easier for players to get involved, offer more ways to earn rewards, and let more people run events with improved tools. The goal here is to benefit not just players, but organizers and the bigger Brawl Stars community too.

Winner Pin Rules Are Different Now – More Teams Can Win

They’re changing how Winner Pins are given out, so now more teams get them depending on how they place:

  • Gold-level tournaments – The Top 4 teams get a Pin
  • Silver-level tournaments – Pins go to 1st and 2nd teams
  • Bronze-level tournaments – Only the champion wins a Pin

This opens the door for more players to walk away with something for their efforts. But there’s a catch—the Spike Winner Pin won’t be available anymore after July 1. It’ll be replaced with a fresh permanent PIN. Some events during launch will celebrate this shift.

Contributor Pin Returns – With One More Option Now

So the original Contributor Pin is staying, but now there’s also a new Contributor Pin that will cost $2.50. It’s meant to support tournaments and be collectible at the same time. The money made from selling it gets split like this:

  • 10% for the organizers running the events
  • 15% to Matcherino’s platform, helping things run smoothly

The older Pin won’t go away, though. It still remains available, so fans can choose which one they’d like to support.

Organizing Events Is Getting Easier Than Before

Hosting a tournament will now follow a 2-step system:

Starter Tier

  • Open to anyone
  • Doesn’t include Pins or prize pools
  • Mainly for beginners wanting to try out hosting

Partnered Tier

Offers prize money, access to Pins, and crowdfunding tools

Can host three tournament types:

  • Bronze – Funded by the community
  • Silver – $100 base prize + extra funding
  • Gold – $500 base prize + crowdfunding

The big thing is—no applications needed anymore. Anyone can start hosting, but only Partnered events will include rewards. Also, Partnered hosts get 10% from the new Contributor Pins’ sales, giving them a better reason to grow their events.

More Tournaments Mean More Rewards for Players

Going forward, each region is promised at least 1 Gold and 2 Silver events per month, giving players more chances to compete and win something. Now, up to four teams can earn rewards, not only the winners.

All Bronze, Silver, and Gold events will be listed in a monthly calendar, and more tournaments might be added later, too.

So when this launches July 1, the future of Brawl Stars tournaments looks to be more open, better supported, and more rewarding for everybody involved.
