Marvel Rivals is moving into a new stage with the release of Season 4 on September 12, 2025. The update, called Heart of the Dragon, bring one new hero, new team-up powers, and also big list of buffs and nerfs. Almost 20 heroes is changed, which will probably shift the game’s meta in big ways.
Buffed Heroes

Nine of the heroes is getting stronger this season. Scarlet Witch maybe get the biggest improvement, because her Reality Erasure ultimate is raise from 800 to 9,999 damage, and she also can pull enemies and survive better while casting. Peni Parker receive more utility since her Spider-Drone now giving stacking slows, and Invisible Woman getting more strong healing and control on battlefield.
Thor has ultimate that now is faster and also stun enemies when landing. Doctor Strange cooldowns on attack skills is shorter, but his health go down little for balance. Moon Knight now hold extra Moon Blade charge, and Blade slash deal slightly more damage. Ultron’s ultimate hit harder to bonus health, and Jeff the Land Shark create healing pool after ultimate, helping his team more.
Nerfed Heroes
Seven heroes is weaker to stop them from dominating. Luna Snow ultimate don’t last as long now, fixing the problem of her staying too strong in fights. Emma Frost Diamond Form take longer to use again, and her shield give less energy. Black Panther lose a bit of survivability, while Captain America no longer gives bonus damage on team-up.
Loki illusions and shapeshift both become weaker and cooldown is quicker, making tricks harder. Squirrel Girl Acorn deal less damage and her cooldown is longer. Psylocke Wing Shuriken do less damage when retrieving.
New Hero and Team-Ups

Season 4 bringing Angela, the new Vanguard hero using spear and shield with melee-heavy kit. She has tethering ultimate and synergy with Thor, opening “Thunderstrike Pike” ability.
Other team-ups including Black Panther getting Gamma Shield from Hulk, and Doctor Strange joining with Magik for new control ability in Arcane synergy. At the same time, “Dimensional Shortcut” synergy of Magik and Psylocke is removed.
