Marvel Rivals is shaking things up, or “twisting,” this October. The new update introduces a PvE mode for the first time, themed “Marvel Zombies” in time for Halloween festivities, along with live in-game events, new items, and minor bug fixes. You can jump right into the action without any server downtime, because surviving the Halloween Zombies is as easy as logging in.
Marvel Rivals October 2025 Update: All-New PvE Mode Marvel Zombies
The latest patch went live on October 23, 2025.

The centerpiece of this updated content is the new PvE mode, Marvel Zombies, a wave-based experience coined from the “Marvel Zombies” storyline. Modeled after an experience in Overwatch called “Junkenstein’s Revenge”, alongside valuable discussions with the Disney Plus animated series team, players will be immersed into this theme night right out of the gate; players will choose from five heroes:
- Thor – Harnesses lightning with a persistent awakened state.
- Blade – Wields ricocheting moon blades.
- Magik – Unleashes unlimited Darkchild abilities.
- Jeff the Land Shark – Performs underground swim attacks.
- The Punisher – Excels in close-range combat.
Players face two boss encounters: Zombie Namor and Scarlet Witch (Queen of the Dead). Battles are on the Empire of Eternal Night Midtown map, difficulty from easy to extreme. Teams of 1-4 players can survive waves of zombies and take on bosses.
Platform Note: Marvel Zombies PvE mode is not available on PS4.
The mode will run from October 23 to November 14, 2025, giving players time to try the undead apocalypse.

Halloween Event & New In-Store Items

Along with PvE mode is the Halloween event, Voyage to Astonish, with limited-time rewards. Players can unlock:
- Blade – Blade Knight Costume by finishing voyage missions.
- Peni Parker – Floral Frights Costume by participating in the event.
- Pumpkin Curse Emote – Free emote for all heroes, available from October 24 to November 1, 2025.
This event lets players collect exclusive rewards while doing seasonal stuff.
The October 23 patch also brings themed bundles and cosmetics:
- Jeff the Land Shark – Jeff O’Lantern Bundle – includes new outfit and abilities.
- Namor – Phantom Tide Bundle – has zombified Namor skin.
- Jeff O’Lantern Ultimate Ability VFX – adds visual effect to Jeff’s ultimate attack.
These items are from October 24 to November 21, 2025, for players to customize heroes.
Twitch Drops, Fixes and Improvements
For Halloween and the Ignite Grand Finals, Marvel Rivals introduces Twitch Drops. Viewers can earn rewards by watching participating streams, including:
- Loki tournament commemorative costume
- Emote
- Nameplate
- Mood
- Emoji
Drops start October 27, 2025, at 4 PM UTC, for the community to earn items.
The update also fixes several bugs:

- Hulk – Fixed terrain KO issue from Radioactive Lockdown.
- Captain America – Fixed Fearless Leap malfunction under low-network.
- Blade – Corrected attack speed bonus stack bug from Bloodline Awakening.
- Scarlet Witch – Fixed movement issue after Ultimate in Free Fight mode.
- Adam Warlock – Fixed unintended teleportation of revived teammates in small spaces.
- Daredevil – Fixed performance issue from rapid ability use.
- Console – Bug causing players to exit matches when checking “Avoid as Teammate” is fixed.
