In the next update to Marvel Rivals, the game will feature its first Player vs Environment (PvE) mode, which will bring Marvel Zombies to life in-game. This highly anticipated mode will launch on October 23, 2025, and represents a tremendous expansion for the hero shooter since it has been solely focused on PvP engagements. The new mode is titled Zombie Mode, and players will be in it, combat waves of zombified enemies from the darker corners of the Marvel universe.
Zombie Mode is inspired by the popular Marvel Zombies comic series, in which familiar heroes and villains are reimagined as horrific versions of themselves. Players will cooperate to survive waves of enemies that increase in difficulty until ultimately confronting bosses Zombie Namor and the Queen of the Dead. The addition is a cooperative mode that is fun for returning and new players interested in a new way of engaging with the title.
Five Playable Heroes in Marvel Rivals Zombies PvE Mode

The first version of Zombie Mode will feature a smaller curated lineup of five Heroes: Thor, Blade, Magik, The Punisher, and Jeff the Land Shark. Each hero has been designed for a PvE experience, and has greater or more suited powers for larger-scale combat.
In his Awakened form, Thor is capable of casting electrifying area attacks, while Blade will utilize his Moon Blades to attack multiple zombies at once. Magik will go to an extended Darkchild form, giving her a great melee attack against enemy swarms. Jeff will use his charging attacks to clear zombie packs, giving quick mobility in tight situations. The Punisher has not had any specifics around his new abilities mentioned. However, his heavy weapon style of combat would benefit him in prolonged firefights.
A Permanent Game Mode

The Marvel Zombies PvE mode is not a limited-time event. The developers confirmed that this game mode will stay active well after seasonal game content, ensuring cooperative replayability designed to last. The update releases with the Halloween season, so the zombie theme fits this timing perfectly.
