Changes continue in the different esports organizations in the off-season. Although some tournaments will be played soon, some teams and players have decided to separate their paths for the 2023 season.

This is the case of one of the best VALORANT controller players in the world, former OpTic player Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, who has decided to separate from the North American organization and head towards free agency.

The player himself has announced through his official social networks claiming that:

“I will be back and better than ever.”

OpTic is not part of the VCT

There is no doubt that many changes in the VALORANT organizations are due to their failure to get a partnership with Riot Games for the VCT.

Marved has been one of the players most affected by this since he was considered one of the best players on the team and, as we mentioned, one of the best controllers in the world.

Many called Marved a cold-blooded guy who shined in moments when the team looked lost.

OpTic was one of the prominent organizations that failed to secure a spot for VCT 2023. This failure to secure the partnership with Riot has led to Marved’s decision to step away from the team and seek a new lease of life in an organization that competes at the highest level.

About Marved

Marved accustomed us to spectacular performances in regional and international tournaments, proving his talent was above many other players.

Marved’s last game with OpTic was a defeat in the VALORANT Champions Grand Final against the Brazilian team LOUD.

This defeat stunned everyone within the organization. No one expected it, especially after the excellent season they had done. In addition, the team’s future was significantly compromised when OpTic was denied a franchise team spot for the next VCT Americas at the end of September.

TSM, G2, and FaZe, other enormous organizations within the esports world, also failed to get this partnership for VCT 2023.

Uncertain future for Marved

During the offseason, his former teammates crashies, victor, FNS, and Head Coach, Chet Singh were signed by NRG. A North American team that did earn a spot in the 2023 VCT.

As of today, there is still nothing certain about Marved’s future in the VALORANT competitive scene.

He may move to a team to play in the VCT Challengers 2023 to continue with a good pace, sign with a franchise team as a sixth man, or jump the pond and try his luck in other regions.

We are sure that the decision Marved makes will be the best for him and his future. In addition, the team that gets his services will have a spectacular acquisition for 2023.
