European esports organization, OG, announced last Friday, January 6, the departure of 25-year-old Pole Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski from the CS:GO lineup after three years with the team.

Mantuu has been part of the organization since the founding of the first CS:GO squad in December 2019, along with Valdemar “valde” Vangså, Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen, Nathan “NBK-” Schmitt and Issa “ISSAA” Murad.

Recall that mantuu moved to the bench of OG last summer, specifically on July 15, 2022. Since then, the player has not played, waiting for the contract’s expiration with the organization.

Mantuu says goodbye after three years with OG

The organization released the statement via Twitter, where they showed a lot of gratitude with mantuu, thanks to all the good times they lived together. The message reads:

“3 years of incredible clutches and lightning-fast flicks. It’s been an honor to watch you grow wearing our colors. You will always be part of OG history, and we wish you the best in your promising career. Thank you for everything, @m4ntuu.”

Shortly after this statement, mantuu himself said that he is now a free agent and is exploring all options to get a new home. Mantuu said:

“I am now a free agent going into 2023! My contract with OG has just ended and I want to thank them once again for the great experience that we shared. In the meantime, I will be streaming until I will find a new home. [email protected] or DM me.”

About mantuu

Mateusz “mantuu” Wilczewski is a 25-year-old Polish/British player. His best years in the CS:GO competitive scene were undoubtedly playing for OG between 2019 and 2022.

As we mentioned, mantuu became a founding member of the original OG lineup in December 2019.

Before that, mantuu was part of the teams n0_0rg, Entropy Gaming, PANTHERS Gaming, and ALTERNATE aTTax.

The AWPer played in OG’s starting lineup for almost two and a half years and was the last remaining member of the team’s original lineup. All this until he was forced to give up his place to Russian Abdul “Degster” Gasanov in July 2022.

During this time in the organization, mantuu was OG’s mainstay in winning the SteelSeries Invitational, Spring Sweet Spring 2, and Teleperformance PXP Invitational. In addition, they finished in the top three places in other S-Level tournaments but failed to win any significant trophies.

OG did not get the expected results during the last seasons, as they failed to qualify for the PGL Major Stockholm and the PGL Major Antwerp. This forced the team to make several lineups changes over the years, signing some new players and trying to get a winning lineup.

Despite not meeting the objectives all this time, Mantuu remained one of the regular players in the OG lineup, always showing an excellent level of play.

Mantuu is a free agent

The end of mantuu’s stint in OG came before the BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 when he fell ill and was replaced by Degster in the team’s starting lineup.

The Russian impressed the organization so much that he was allowed to join the GO squad for good, taking mantuu’s spot in the lineup.

A player of mantuu’s quality is desirable for any team in the world, but let’s remember that AWPers are the most critical players of each squad, and most have this position filled. Likewise, he will likely get a new home to continue showing that he is at his best level of play.

With the departure of mantuu, the CS:GO OG lineup is as follows:

  • Nemanja “nexa” Isaković
  • Abdul “degster” Gasanov
  • Shahar “llamaZ” Shushan
  • Adam “NEOFRAG” Zouhar
  • Maciej “F1KU” Miklas
  • Casper “ruggah” Due (Head Coach)
