Mage Arena Spells COMPLETE Guide | List, Unlocking, Casting, and Tips

fragster Jennifer Davis 7. August 2025

Summary:

  • Mage Arena has truly brought something unique and special to the world of PvP games with its voice-activated combat mechanics.
  • In the game, casting primary attacks called “spells” requires players to speak clearly into their mics and activate these spells instead of simply using their device controls.
  • As of now, there are a total of 10 available spells for players to master, but we can expect more to be added in the coming patches.

If you’re looking to feel like a wizard while gaming or just like yelling over the mic, Mage Arena has got the perfect mechanics for you. Currently on early access, this fantasy PvP has entirely voice-activated combat attacks. Wanna how this works, or how to start maniacally spamming fireballs at enemies? Well, find out here in our complete and updated guide to all Mage Arena Spells.

How Many Spells Are Available?

Mage Arena Spells COMPLETE Guide List, Unlocking, Casting, and Tips (2)

Mage Arena features 10 unique spells divided into two categories. Players must say spells out loud in order to cast them, alongside additional requirements.

You start with 4 default spells that remain permanently available in your Spellbook. Additionally, 6 secret spells can be unlocked by finding Torn Pages scattered throughout the arena. However, these powerful secret spells drop when you die, so you should be careful about using them

Default Spellbook Spells

These four Mage Arena spells form your core arsenal and never disappear:

Fireball

This spell launches explosive projectiles that deal 70 base damage plus 3 additional damage per level. The spell burns enemies for 8-10 seconds and delivers stronger effects at closer range. Distance also affects knockback power.

Recent updates nerfed this one, though, putting a cap on its scaling. If you’ve ever watched Mage Arena spellcasting compilation videos, yes, this is the one they keep spamming. To cast, you just say (or scream) FIREBALL while holding the Spellbook flipped to the Fireball page.

Freeze

Need your enemies to keep still so you can attack them properly? Just FREEZE them while you’re on the Spellbook’s Freeze page. Doing this shoots ice bolts that deal 15 base damage while temporarily immobilizing targets. This spell proves invaluable for controlling enemy movement during battles.

Wormhole

Unlike other spells, this one has a two-part teleportation system. Say WORM to place the first portal, then HOLE to establish the second. Players and projectiles can travel between portals, though Freeze spells will close them.

Magic Missile

Careful with saying this spell, as many people have failed to activate it due to accents or unclear pronunciation. MAGIC MISSILE summons three homing projectiles that automatically target nearby enemies. Each missile deals 10 damage to players and 10-14 damage to AI enemies, lasting 5 seconds.

Secret Spells from Torn Pages

Aside from the first four, you also could get more spells in the arena if you find their corresponding Torn Pages. You could also only activate them if you say their names while holding their page. These powerful Mage Arena spells are:

Blink

Saying BLINK teleports you short distances in your facing direction, even through solid walls. This mobility spell excels for quick escapes or surprise attacks.

Dark Blast

This spell fires piercing beams that deal 8 fixed damage and 1-second burn effects. The beam travels 70 units and penetrates multiple targets. Just shout DARK BLAST and see the magic!

Divine Light

If you’re more of a support type, DIVINE LIGHT heals all nearby targets within a 40-unit radius, restoring 50 HP. This area-of-effect healing affects both teammates and enemies.

Thunderbolt

Yelling THUNDERBOLT like Zeus’ wizard child summons lightning strikes as one might expect. Unless of course, you wanted a yellow Pokemon to fight for you instead. The lightning strike deals 50 base damage with 8-second burns, and higher levels increase strikes up to 3 maximum. Only use this spell outdoors.

Wisp

From the mystical will-o’-the-wisp, this spell functions the same with a dangerous twist. It creates homing projectiles that track enemies through walls, dealing minimal but persistent burn damage. If you want to inflict annoying damage that slowly chips away from your enemies’ HP bars, just say WISP!

Rock (newly added in version 0.7.6)

This is a new spell only recently discovered after patch 0.7.6., adding to the number of torn page spells you can find in the game. Saying ROCK drops large rocks that propel nearby players and block pathways for 26 seconds before disappearing.

How to Unlock and Cast Spells

Finding Torn Pages requires thorough exploration of crypts, dungeons, caves, and graveyards. However, you can farm these Mage Arena spells efficiently using the Gnome Forest method.

  • Navigate to the blue hexagon area marked with green tree symbols on your map (press Q to view).
  • Approach any Gnome while holding an item and press E to trade.
  • Gnomes offer random rewards including Torn Pages. Since four Gnomes typically roam the village, you can trade continuously despite short cooldown periods between exchanges.

Successfully casting spells requires proper preparation. For default spells, open your spellbook to the correct page using number keys, then speak the spell name clearly. For secret spells, hold the corresponding Torn Page in your hand before speaking the incantation.

Remember that page and voice command must match exactly. Speaking “Fireball” while viewing the Freeze page won’t work.

Conclusion

Ready to do some damage with your pronunciation skills? Just remember these Mage Arena spells and practice using them! Remember that every spell has a cooldown, so also be strategic about using these powerful attacks.

Prepare your Spellbook and Torn Pages! It’s time for some serious yelling in the name of magical combat.
