M6 World Championship UPDATE- Fnatic Onic PH Hailed As Grand Final Winners

2024 did not at all look like it’s going to be Fnatic ONIC PH’s year. Yet, the Filipino team had other plans as they quickly steered themselves back towards brilliance. Fnatic ONIC PH are your M6 champions, and they did it all in a way that is no less than legendary.

M6 Dominance

The M6 World Championship, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang’s biggest international 2024 event, held its Grand Final at the Axiata Arena in Kuala Lumpur on December 15. The matchup featured the Philippines’ MPL PH winner, Fnatic ONIC PH, and Indonesia’s MPL ID winner, Team Liquid ID.

With no series dropped in the entirety of M6, Fnatic ONIC PH had already become a favorite bet by the time the Grand Finals was due. Again and again, they asserted superiority over their rivals, Team Liquid ID, beating them across the Swiss Stage and Knockouts.

In their second and most crucial rematch at the Grand Final stage, FNOP triumphed 4-1 and asserted that they will not lose to any team in M6.

Game by Game Breakdown

Game 1

Fnatic Onic PH started game one strong by securing most of their signature heroes. They picked Suyou as their core, Luo Yi for the mid lane, and Bruno in the gold lane. Team Liquid ID on the other hand put their hopes with a Granger and a surprising Lylia pick in hopes to throw the Philippine giants off their game.

Showcasing their dominance, “K1ngkong” (Suyou) and “Kelra” (Bruno) flowed with an unstoppable momentum and gave the Filipino team their first win of the Grand Finals.

Game 2

In the second game, what we saw with Fnatic Onic PH was their smart way of picking. They countered the Meta jungler Joy “Faviannn” of Team Liquid with Fredrinn. With Fredrinn keeping Joy in check along with Kelra’s superb positioning in every fight, Fnatic Onic PH managed to melt down Team Liquid and secured their second win in the M6 in just under 1 minutes.

Game 3

It appears that the Philippine giants aimed to test the limits of their drafting choices and went on with a heavy magic damage composition. Their only sustain came in the form of their roamer Gatotkaca. This glass cannon strategy soon proved to be a fatal mistake as Team Liquid’s Joy pick picked them apart and sealed the win after 13 minutes.

Game 4

As if they got awoken by Team Liquid’s clap back on game 3, Fnatic Onic PH decided that it is time to reestablish their dominant gameplay in the M6 World Championship. They secured their signature heroes: Suyou and Kelra’s Beatrix, as well as taking their turn with picking Joy.

However, the player that stood out the most for this game is Super Frince’s Valentina as he managed to copy pivotal ultimates such as Luo Yi’s teleport and Fredrinn’s taunt—a fine display of setting skills that opened Team Liquid’s base, giving the Filipino team a strong 3-1 lead.

Game 5

The final match put fans on the edge of their seats, the game revolved around heavy crowd controls which led to teamfights that is worthy to be called a stuff of legend. For Fnatic Onic PH, Kelra’s Irithel and K1ngkong’s Alpha made for a formidable combo which allowed them to control the early game. However, Team Liquid did not let the match go smoothly for their competition and fought valiantly with their own crowd control in the form of Yehezkiel’s Zhuxin.

With the back and forth between the two teams, it became difficult to predict who would win. But with Yve and Alpha on their side to apply strong crowd control, Kelra’s Irithel managed to shoot down Team Liquid and eventually opened up their path to the M6 trophy with one final wave push

Fnatic Onic PH claimed the M6 World Championship—a record breaking display of the dominance of the Filipino teams in Mobile Legends. As for the finals MVP, it was awarded to none other than Kelra for his out of this world plays in this tournament.

Conclusion

When it comes to Mobile Legends, Filipino and Indonesian teams have a one of a kind rivalry. However, it is Team Philippines that will be celebrating their Champions as the tournament concluded. Marking the fifth world championship title for their country, Fnatic Onic PH displayed a dominating unstoppable M6 run that will surely bring back pride and joy home.
