The different esports organizations worldwide are always trying to move forward and venture into unknown worlds to exploit their full potential. Every time a new video game becomes a global trend, these organizations set their sights on them and evaluate whether or not it is worth taking the risk.

The popular North American organization Luminosity Gaming has been the first to do so, and they have done it in a big way, as they have announced the signing of the 2022 World Champion lineup, BLVKHVND. This marks Luminosity’s official entry into Pokemon UNITE.

Luminosity forays into Pokémon and signs the BLVKHVND lineup

As mentioned, the popular North American organization Luminosity Gaming announced the signing of BLVKHVND, the current Pokémon UNITE world champion.

As we already know, this Canadian organization has an excellent trajectory within esports and has lineups in the most important esports in the world.

After winning the World Championship in 2022, the guys from BLVKHVND surprisingly decided to leave the team to play under Ascended. Under this name, the lineup remained at its best possible level in each event it played in the last six months.

The current lineup of Luminosity Gaming’s Pokémon UNITE team is as follows:

  • Elo
  • Junglebook
  • Kyriaos
  • Overlord98
  • Slashcan
  • Oblivion
  • Lazadin (Coach)
  • The MorningJr (Manager)

About BLVKHVND

As mentioned, these guys, who previously went by the name Ascended, were acquired by the American group BLVKHVND in March 2022. They excelled in the UNITE Championship Series: NA, winning the competition by defeating IX Gaming in the Grand Finals.

Following this, BLVKHVND participated in the 2022 World Championship held in London from August 18-20. The team won all the matches in the group stage and was extremely confident from the beginning of the tournament.

They overcame their opponents with powerful performances during the playoffs. Finally, they won the Grand Final against the European team Noun Esports. There they won the coveted trophy and received $100,000 in prize money. The talented team attracted the community’s attention because it was UNITE’s first World Championship. At the famous event, Slash, Junglebook, and Overload were among the best.

Pokemon UNITE has already released its roadmap for esports 2023, with a prize pool of $1,000,000. Teams have already begun competing in monthly tournaments in various countries to qualify for the upcoming World Championship in Yokohama, Japan. Unfortunately, only four of the 31 eligible spots were allocated to the North American region this year.

The current Luminosity Gaming roster recently won the Pokemon UNITE Championship Series 2023: NA February Finals after defeating Team Amaterasu 2-0 in the Grand Finals.
