The 2024 LPL Regional Finals

The stage is on set for an epic showdown that’s coming for the 2024 LPL Regional Finals. The final two teams from China will determine the prestigious tournament and battle it out for the League of Legends World Championships.

Format

The top 4 teams that haven’t qualified yet for the World will face an intense competition in the single-elimination round. 

In addition, the top 2 teams will compete for each other in the upper bracket and whoever comes as a winner will receive the LPL 3rd seed. 

While in the lower bracket match the loser that is ranked between 5th and 6th will play against the winner of the match to decide who gets the last seed, and all matches are expected to be a best-of-five series.

G1: TBD vs. LNG – Saturday, August 31, 10:00 CET 

G2: NIP vs. JDG – Sunday, September 1, 10:00 CET

Round 2

G3: TBD vs. TBD – Monday, September 2, 10:00 CET

Teams

The 2024 LPL Regional Finals is going to be wild and this time this will be the mark for the battle of the titans, where each of the best teams are in competition for the highest title. Here are the list of the contenders ranked by their seed:

• Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP)
• JD Gaming (JDG)

The final spot will be determined by the outcome of the LPL Summer Playoff Finals. If WBG wins against BLG, TES will qualify for the Regional Finals. However, if WBG loses, they will take the third seed, while TES will secure their spot at Worlds 2024 as the LPL’s second seed.

Since the third seed is heating up. Based on their recent performances, it looks like both WBG and TES will appear to be the strongest contenders for Worlds 2024. 

The 4th place and final place is still up in the air. LNG is looking as the most promising team, however we know that JDG will surprise us even more if they are going to push a little. On the other hand, NIP doesn’t seem to have the momentum needed to qualify based on their current form.
