Held from November 27 until December 8, 2024, the NNO Cup Season 2 is a C-Tier LoL tournament that featured a mix of pro and former pro players, streamers, and content creators. The tournament was based in Europe and played online on the EUW server.

Eight teams battled in this Cup, fighting best-of-five battles in a double-elimination bracket. The tournament had a “fearless draft” format which did not include any champion bans, but required players to select any champion only once in a series.

The final standings for the NNO Cup Season 2 had all participating teams in the following places:

  • 1st Place – Los Ratones (LR)
  • 2nd Place – 5 Pigs, 1 Team (PIGS)
  • 3rd Place – French Flair (FF)
  • 4th Place – Los Guarros (ESP)
  • 5th-6th Place – No Need Orga (NNO)
  • 5th-6th Place – Kiedyś Miałem Fun (KMF)
  • 7th-8th Place – Never FF (NF)
  • 7th-8th Place – Die Atzen (ATZE)

The Winning Lineup

Los Ratones had previously announced its roster for the 2025 season with LEC icon and Worlds finalist Martin “Rekkles” Larsson in the Support role. However, the pro player had just recently come back to home ground after winning Worlds 2024 as T1’s sixth man. His two-week vacation with his family co-incided with the dates of the NNO Cup Season 2, so the Los Ratones founder and coach, Caedrel, had to step in.

And step in Caedrel did, playing alongside Simon “thebausffs” Hofverberg (TOP), Veljko “Velja” Čamdžić (JGL), Tim “Nemesis” Lipovšek (MID), and Juš “Crownie” Marušič (BOT) despite not having touched the role in his pro career. Humorous posts rolled out among Los Ratones fans and Caedrel’s subscribers, highlighting plays that featured the temporary support “inting” or doing badly in the game.

Caedrel himself rode on the jokes, declaring in a post-match interview that his three-week-long support career is over and that he’s “never going back, ever.” He also said that Rekkles arrival to them team soon will just make the team stronger for future matches.

In the tournament’s opening rounds, Los Ratones faced off with KMF and won with a resounding 3-0 victory. They then proceeded to defeat NNO 3-1 in the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Upon reaching the Upper Bracket Finals against French Flair, Los Ratones once again asserted dominance with a clean sweep, advancing to the Grand Final where they awaited 5 Pigs, 1 Team.

Led by jungler Marcin “Jankos” Jankowski, who boasts notable achievements in the LEC and internationally, PIGS was another team dominating their NNO Cup matches. They tied the score with Los Ratones in a close Game 2 in the Grand Finals, putting up an admirable fight. However, they weren’t able to overcome LR in the next two games.

Los Ratones took the fourth game with a quick 22-minute win, claiming the NNO Cup Season 2 championship title as well. Their victory awarded them with the 10,000 grand prize and marked them as a serious contender in the league.

Los Ratones winning the NNO Cup Season 2 proves the individual skills of its players and its team dynamics. Among teams aspiring to compete in higher tier leagues, Los Ratones is quickly rising to be a strong candidate.

After NLC expanded their team slots from 8 to 10 teams, Los Ratones was quick to join the Northern leagues. In the coming 2025 season, we can expect to see los Ratones, finally with Rekkles, compete in this ERL tournament. But we don’t actually have to wait until next year to see Rekkles play. The star Support will be making his Los Ratones debut on the competitive stage of Red Bull League of Its Own, held this coming December 15.
