It seems that Riot is slowing down a bit — we’re not getting any more champion reveals. Instead, they’ve just showcased a whopping 17 brand-new cards that will be shipping alongside the upcoming Empires of the Ascended expansion! That’s quite a large number and, better yet, none of these cards are even remotely tied to Shurima!

Instead, they’re aimed towards other regions, so make sure to read the fine print! There’s a lot of ground to cover, so let’s begin!

Empires of the Ascended | Brand-New Cards

Freljord, Demacia, Shadow Isles, Noxus, Piltover & Zaun, Ionia, Bilgewater, and Targon are all getting new spells, units, and/or landmarks. So, if you’re currently running any of these decks, you definitely have a reason to celebrate!

Freljord

Ancestral Boon is a 2 mana Burst spell that’ll grant the top ally in your deck with +2 | +2. If you happen to be Enlightened, this spell will grant all allies in your deck with +2 | +2 instead.

Spoils of War is a 3 mana Burst spell that’ll grant an ally +1 |+2. It also has a Plunder effect: grant +2 | +4 instead.

Demacia

Dragon Chow is a 1 mana unit with 0 | 3. Once you play a dragon — and this unit is on the board — that dragon will strike it and you’ll draw a card. Basically a buffer that synergizes perfectly with the Fury keyword.

Towering Stonehorn is a 6 mana unit with 7 | 7. This unit is impervious to enemy spells and skills.

Shadow isles

Soulspinner is a 3 mana Spider with 3 | 2. Once summoned, it’ll gain +1 | +1 along with Fearsome if an ally unit happened to die that round.

Sea Scarab is a 2 mana Sea Monster with 1 | 2 and the Deep keyword. When another ally dies (or the Last Breath effect happens to activate), you can toss 1 card.

Noxus

Crimson Bloodletter is a 1 mana unit with 1 | 2. The next time you summon an ally unit, it’ll take 1 damage and Crimson Bloodletter will gain +1 | +1.

Strength in Numbers is an 8 mana Slow spell that’ll summon two Legion Marauders.

Shrieking Spinner is a 4 mana Spider with 2 | 5. Once it attacks, all Spider allies will gain +1 | 0.

Piltover & Zaun

Production Surge is a 0 mana Slow spell. To play it, you’ll have to spend all your mana. Then you’ll get to summon random turrets whose total cost equals the mana spent.

Concurrent Timelines is a 1 mana Slow spell. For the rest of the game, the first time you play a follower each round, you’ll get to pick 1 of 3 followers with the same cost to transform it into. Quite a spicy effect!

Ionia

Shadow Apprentice is a 1 mana unit with 1 | 1 and Elusive. Once summoned, it’ll gain +1 | +1 if an ally with Ephemeral is on the board.

Field Musicians is a 4 mana unit with 1 | 4 and Attune. Each round, once you’ve summoned three other allies, you’ll be able to refill your spell mana and draw a card.

Bilgewater

Lost Riches is a 4 mana Burst spell that’ll allow you to draw a treasure. If there aren’t any for you to draw, it’ll create two treasures in your deck instead.

Loaded Dice is a 4 mana Slow spell. For the rest of the round, whenever you damage the enemy Nexus you’ll be able to nab a card.

Targon

Destiny’s Call is an 8 mana Burst spell that’ll grant an ally in hand with +8 | +8. Talk about a stat boost!

Startipped Peak is a 2 mana landmark with a Countdown value of 2. Once it reaches zero, you’ll get two random Celestial cards that cost 3 mana or less in your hand.
