The world stage is getting closer. Six teams from the EMEA region gathered for a tournament of their fate.

The quest is about to end in the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) 2024 Season Finals. It is in full swing as it awaits the last competing team for the grand finals. Among these top European teams, only three will get a spot at the 2024 World Championship. Whose fate do you think will place them in the biggest stage of League of Legends?

Tournament Format and Participants

The double-elimination bracket continues to prevail for the LEC 2024 Season Finals. Only six teams were able to qualify through amazing performances from the regional Winter and Spring splits to Summer split. Besides that, it also took into account their overall Championship Points to qualify for the LEC 2024 Season Finals. Here are the qualified teams:

Current Bracket and Results

With only two remaining matches for the season, we’ve seen a lot of impressive showdowns between European powerhouses in the LEC 2024 Season Finals. 

FNC, in particular, closed out their upper bracket performance stellarly. In their opening match, they faced Team BDS and secured a 3-0 victory to continue their run. Up next was the Mad Lions KOI (MDK), whom they defeated in a close 3-2 to secure the grand final slot. 

The lower bracket saw intense showdowns between G2 Esports, GIANTX, and Team BDS. G2 and GIANTX began the tournament and gave G2 the 3-0 sweep win. In their match for the lower bracket quarterfinal, G2 narrowly evaded BDS by 3-2 to proceed on to the next stage. With the MDK defeat, they are bound to face G2 Esports in the lower bracket. 

Upcoming Matches

Crucial matches remain for the LEC 2024 Season Finals Series. From six teams, they are now down to three. Here are the upcoming matches to conclude the tournament:

• Lower Bracket Final: MAD Lions KOI vs. G2 Esports (August 31, 18:00 CET)
• Grand Final: Fnatic vs. TBD (September 1, 18:00 CET)

These matches are set to determine the LEC 2024 Season champion and to complete the cast for the World Championship.

A Run for the World 

This LEC 2024 Season Finals will name the teams whose journey to the world will begin. The season’s champion and runner-up will take the three allotted slots for the EMEA region. 

Currently, Fnatic and G2 Esports are assured of the World Championship slot after their brilliant performances throughout the splits. Fnatic is secured at least the #2 seed for Worlds 2024 after reaching the LEC 2024 grand final. 

On the other hand, G2 Esports will have a chance to improve their seeding as EMEA’s

 lowest seed through their final placement in the LEC 2024 Season Finals. Moreover, G2 guaranteed their spot when they won the Summer Split. 

The owner of the remaining third-place spot will depend on the winner of the lower bracket finals match. If G2 loses, MAD Lions Koi will advance as the second-seeded team for the Worlds. 

Prize Pool and Awards

There’s a lot at stake for the LEC 2024 Season Finals. This includes the impressive prize pool in the amount of €160,000. Here’s a breakdown of the prize: 

• 1st Place: €65,000
• 2nd Place: €40,000
• 3rd Place: €25,000
• 4th Place: €15,000
• 5th-6th Place: €7,500 each

Beside the prize money, LEC 2024 will present individual awards to players with outstanding performances for their team, including the Season Finals MVP. As of now, there are several players who received one “Player of the Series” nomination, like Hans Sama, Caps, Mrywn, nuc, and Oscarinin.
