LEC 2023 Summer details revealed

With MSI 2023 entering its final stretch, the different leagues worldwide are starting to reveal the details regarding the rest of the season. The LEC, one of the most important in the LoL competitive scene, has revealed all the details regarding the Summer Split 2023 and the Season Finals.

Remember that this will be the third and last Split of the season, followed by the Season Finals that will define the LEC representatives at Worlds 2023. This only means the teams will have to throw the rest in this last Split of the season.

LEC reveals details regarding the remainder of the 2023 season

The LEC revealed all the details regarding the Summer Split 2023 and the Season Finals through an official statement on its blog. Regarding the Summer Split, it will be played from June 17 to July 30, 2023. Also, as we have mentioned, this Split will be followed by the LEC Season Finals 2023, which will be in charge of defining the teams from the region that will be present at Worlds 2023.

On the other hand, the LEC Season Finals will be played at the Sud de France Arena, in Montpellier, France, between September 9 and 10, 2023.

Unlike the other LoL competitive regions, the LEC Summer Split will start a few days later and have some breaks in the schedule. This has been one of the main criticisms of the LEC in recent seasons, especially in the Spring Split, as due to the mid-season breaks, European teams have little time to prepare for each season’s MSIs.

While it is true that there is still no confirmation regarding the Summer Split schedule, the format will remain the same as the one used in winter and spring. As a result, teams will compete in the first round to fight for qualification to the group stage. Finally, the top four teams from the group stage will advance to the playoffs to determine the Split champion.

LEC Season Finals 2023

Now, as for the LEC Season Finals 2023, it will be played a few weeks after the end of the Summer Split. In this tournament, the best six teams of the entire LEC Season 2023 will face each other to get one of the three direct slots for the next Worlds 2023. In addition, the fourth-place team will have the opportunity to play in the Worlds Qualifying Series against the fourth-place team in the LCS.

As champions in Winter and Spring, G2 Esports and MAD Lions have already qualified directly for the LEC Finals 2023. They will be joined by the Summer Split champion in case it is not one of them, while the rest of the teams are determined according to the points accumulated throughout the season.

Now we have to wait and see if the LEC teams continue to reform their roster to have better results in the Summer Split and thus be able to score the necessary points to qualify for the Season Finals.
