This stage will determine the next three teams to secure their knockout stage qualification from the 2-1 pool. G2 Esports will play FlyQuest, which has the potential to be one of the closest Western knockouts of the tournament to date. In the matchup, FlyQuest and G2 will face off with the rest of Europe on the line. This will be a true test of G2’s aggression and tempo-oriented play vs. FlyQuest’s disciplined, adaptive style. In the other matchup, Gen.G Esports, arguably Korea’s strongest team, will square off against Top Esports in a rematch of ancient rivalries. Both teams have exhibited early game dominance, thus expect this series to be highlighted by mid-lane prowess and late game macro play. Finally, in a heavily favorable outcome towards the Koreans, Hanwha Life Esports will play CTBC Flying Oyster; however, the PCS representative proved they can surprise strong teams, and a potential upset here may be in the works.

The 1-2 bracket has much heavier ramifications, as the losing sides will be out of Worlds contention. Bilibili Gaming will play Vivo Keyd Stars, with the LPL runners-up looking to bounce back from their previous loss. Movistar KOI will play Team Secret Whales, as they look to survive and go on to play on behalf of their regions.

Finally, two interesting teams will meet in the elimination: 100 Thieves and T1. This series has all the global attractions as well. T1 is once led by Faker, is facing an odd elimination after the group stage, while 100 Thieves is attempting to create one of the biggest victories in organization history.
