CTBC Flying Oyset on the other hand, owned the newly formed LCP, along with PSG Talon who followed as runner-up. Both teams have showcased their skills and strengths to their gameplay performances, which led to Worlds 2025 qualification. With that, they will represent the APAC region on the world stage.

Korea (LCK)

As Gen.G secures the first spot for the League of Legends Worlds 2025, LCK still has three more seeds to be go. With that, teams such as T1, Hanwha Life Esports and KT Rolsters are expected to have intense battles in the Summer Playoffs. Considering the history of LCK teams who usually dominate at worlds, competition for the last three spots will be fierce. 

China (LPL)

So far, none yet from the LPL teams have already claimed the four seeds. In this case, the LPL Summer Split will determine the champion, while points and a last-chance qualifier will decide the others. Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and JD Gaming (JDG) are showing top-level performance lately, so many expect they will become one of the seeds for Worlds 2025. 

EMEA (LEC)

In the EMEA region, the LEC Summer playoffs will determine which teams will be qualified for the Worlds 2025. As of now, the summer playoffs are still ongoing but strong teams such as G2 Esports and Fnatic are fan-favorites. Not only that, rising teams Karmine Corp and MAD Lions are showing great performance as well. 

Americas (LTA)

The LTA (North and South America) will send three strong teams from the Americas Region as well. Cloud9, NRG, and LOUD are among the fan favorites, but the playoffs will ultimately decide who takes the spots.

Asia-Pacific (LCP)

So far, CBTC Flying Oyster and PSG Talon from Asia-Pacific, have already confirmed their slots. This means, the last spot will go to another strong APAC team. Detonation FocusMe (DFM) from Japan and Vietnamese representatives are battling it out to secure the last seed. 

The League of Legends Worlds 2025 Tournament Format

The League of Legends Worlds 2025 will use a three-stage system. Specifically, the format includes:

Phase Details
Play-In Stage A special one-match qualifier between the 4th seed from LCK and the 4th seed from LPL will decide the final 17th slot. 
Swiss Stage 16 teams compete in a Swiss-style system. Each team plays until they win three matches (advance) or lose three matches (eliminated).
Knockout Stage The top 8 teams move to a single-elimination bracket. From here, it’s best-of-five matches until one team is crowned World Champion.

 

This format ensures that the tournament is balanced and fair for all teams, while also making it exciting for the viewers.
