League of Legends Patch 25.16 Notes: Buffs, Nerfs, Jungle Shifts & More

League of Legends’ Patch 25.16 is coming out on August 13, 2025, and it’s fairly significant to League of Legends players. The gameplay was not very diverse, and Riot wanted to change that, particularly in the jungle section. The Jungle role gets too dominant, so they’re fixing that now. There are numerous buffs and nerfs coming in this update, focused on role diversity.

Jungle Buffs & Role Expansion

They buffed many champions so that they could become great at the jungle and some other lanes as well. Riot mentioned it’s for providing more alternatives.

Brand: Is now more powerful in the jungle. Got increased monster damage, increased Q stun, and the cooldown of ultimate is reduced.
Master Yi: Now can equip either Kraken Slayer or even Terminus. That provides new builds for him.
Morgana: Her W is causing more damage now and scaling better with monsters, so jungle Morgana improves.
Sylas: His passive now deals 150% monster damage, which contributes to faster jungle clear.

More Buffs

Champions such as Gnar, Illaoi, Kalista, Qiyana, Rek’Sai, Singed, Sion, Nautilus, and Zyra get buffed too, improved damage, cooldowns, or scaling. All of this so that they can be played in the jungle or solo lane with greater success.

Champion Nerfs

Jungle Nerfs

This time around, Riot hit jungle champs, so they won’t be as overpowered.

Jarvan IV, Nocturne, Xin Zhao, Trundle, Shaco: All received nerfs, either base stats or skill power.
Yuumi: Once again nerfed. Nothing new again.
Lulu: Her E now does less shield and damage and has a longer cooldown.
Rell: Her W shield scale is reduced.

Adjustments and System Updates

Champion Adjustments

Mordekaiser, Sylas, Viego, and Sion: They were altered so they can perform better either in the jungle or top/mid.

Rumble, Varus, Warwick: Changes to them were minor, such as balance adjustments.

System Adjustments

Baron Nashor

Base HP is now increased
HP scaling per minute increased
Health regen got removed

Hexplate Buff

Increased attack speed in Overdrive
Movement speed also went up

Skins in Patch 25.16

There are three skins arriving in this patch:

Block Toy Corki
Bowling League Lillia
Victorious Fiora

No Changes for Yunara

Riot developer Phroxzon stated that new champion Yunara is holding up just fine. No nerfs or buffs are in the works since her performance and pick/ban rate are fine. They would rather wait and observe.

The main idea behind Patch 25.16 is to make junglers weaker and give a chance to several champions who were rather underestimated. Riot wants broader builds, and it does not always need to be the same champions that rule the roost. Jungle buffs being sent to Brand, Sylas, Morgana, and now Kalista, with Xin Zhao, Trundle, and Jarvan being nerfed, chances are we will see a new meta.
