Anticipation grows on for Summoner’s Rift players as the arrival of a new champion headlines Patch 14.22. The update will introduce Ambessa to level up the challenge and diverse roster of champions. Definitely, the arrival of the new champion in the game will bring in fresh strategies and dynamics to the game’s meta. So far, Riot Games have not yet officially revealed Ambessa’s abilities and role in the game. 

Warwick Receives Significant Changes

News incoming for Warwick users! Major adjustments are coming in for your beloved champ, Warwick, in the upcoming patch 14.22. Its abilities were significantly affected, particularly his W skill, which saw a major decrease. Here are the changes for Warwick in patch 14.22:

  • Reduced Blood Hunt (W) movement speed from 35-65% to 30-50%.
  • Decreased mana cost from 70 to 35.
  • Significantly reduced active range from 4000 to 3000.
  • Adjusted cooldown from 100-40 seconds to 80-40 seconds.
  • Added a new mechanic where cooldown reduction is 30% if no target is found.

Likely, these changes will make Warwick’s hunting mechanics balanced with other champions in the meta. The adjustments done will also reduce the mana strain on players and will make Warwick’s abilities more consistent. The update will also include the removal of the double cooldown reduction when not hunting and the 3-second combat cooldown. 

Item Updates and Balance Changes

Other than adjustment and arrival of new champions, some items will also undergo modifications for patch 14.22. Riot Games is working on to balance the current meta in the League of Legends and make every item viable to use. Patch 14.22 will have some reworks on items Opportunity and Youmuu’s Ghostblade as follows:

Opportunity

  • Replaced Rectrix component with Pickaxe and Long Sword.
  • Increased attack damage from 50 to 55.
  • Removed 4% movement speed bonus.
  • Increased passive movement speed from 200 to 300.
  • Extended duration of passive movement speed from 1.5 to 2 seconds.

Youmuu’s Ghostblade

  • Reduced attack damage from 60 to 55.
  • Added 4% movement speed bonus.

System Changes

Minimal system changes will come through with patch 14.22. Certainly, this will not significantly change anything drastically with your gameplay. Riot Games will slightly weaken the Barrier summoner spell by reducing the shield value from 120-480 to 100-460. This would likely affect the defensive strategies and lane survivability of champions that regularly rely on Barrier. Nevertheless, everything else remains the same for the league.
