League of Legends Version 14.21 is almost here, blowing its way into existence; believe me, it is not the usual update kind. The changes are huge and can just flip everything in the game. Your favorite characters? They might have some new tricks up their sleeves. That strategy you’ve been using forever? It might need a serious rethink. So, grab a snack, get comfy, and let’s dive into all the juicy details of this game-changing update. Trust me, you’ll want to know this stuff before you jump back in!

Major Bounty System Changes

League of Legends 14.21 Update Patch Notes COMPLETE Details (2)

Previously, only two factors were considered in bounties: gold and experience. That has now been shifted to gold in its latest update of 14.21, where gold now will be the decisive factor that will determine such bounties.

Rewards for objectives on the map, such as towers and Baron, shall also be changed. It means that destroying more towers will yield more gold, which increases their strategic value. Concurrently, while the sum of the bounties is reduced, the bounties for objectives such as Baron and Elder Dragon will last longer.

The system for champion bounties will be completely revamped. Kills, deaths, assists, and farming will be counted to evaluate what that person has contributed to a game rather than kill streaks or deaths alone, making the person’s contribution to the game much easier to judge. Under this new calculation, assists are counted as part of deaths.

Swain Rework

League of Legends 14.21 Update Patch Notes COMPLETE Details (3)

Base Stats:

  • Base Mana: from 468 reduced down to 400.
  • Mana Regeneration: from 8 increased up to 10.

Passive (Ravenous Flock):

  • Healing: from scaling 3%-6% max HP (at levels 1/6/11/16) to a flat 2%-5% max HP at all levels.

Q (Death’s Hand):

  • The mana cost of Swain’s Q was reduced from 45-65 to 42-50. Players can now poke more often and trade more in the lane, not fearing as much that they will run out of mana.
  • Base Damage now ranges from 65-145 to 60-160, taking on just a slight increase in damage at higher levels but dropping it a bit at the lower levels.
  • Increased the AP ratio on Death’s Hand from 40% to 45%.

E (Nevermove):

  • Nevermove cooldown is from flat 10 to a variable cooldown of 14-10 seconds.
  • Mana cost increased from 50 to 60-80.
  • The outgoing missile speed has been reduced making it a little easier to dodge; the returning missile speed has been raised improving the hit reliability on the caught target by the first cast.

R (Demonic Ascension):

  • The ultimate now has multiple activations, which in turn brings more strategically viable options during fights.
  • Base damage was reduced to a range of 15-35 from a previously given range of 20-60, while the AP ratio was reduced to 5% from a previous 10%.
  • The base heal has been buffed a bit, from 15-40 to 15-45, but the AP scaling on healing has been brought down rather drastically, from 18% to just 5%, and now scales with bonus HP instead.

Champion Adjustments

League of Legends 14.21 Update Patch Notes COMPLETE Details (4)

Camille

Camille will receive multiple nerfs to minimize her impact early-game while still retaining relevance into the late-game.

  • Base health: reduced from 670 to 650
  • W (Tactical Sweep): the base damage has been reduced from 70-190 to 50-150
  • E (Hookshot): the bonus AD growth now goes from 90% to 75%, reducing her damage even when she is trying to clash with the enemy team.
  • R (Hextech Ultimatum): one of the most deeply changed abilities was the removal of on-hit base damage from her ultimate. It kind of changed Camille into no longer relying more on burst damage with her ultimate, but instead to ‘play the game’ with better strategic positioning and timing.

Irelia

She will be balanced most reasonably to try and change the reception and impact both in solo and competitive play.

  • Passive (Ionian Fervor): now gives an attack speed per stack that ranges from 5% to 20%, down from a previous range of 7.5% to 25%. This nerf has Irelia needing more stacks to hit her attack speed potential, making it tougher for her to snowball early games.
  • Q (Bladesurge):  The AD ratio rose from 60% to 70% and blends in better with other skills or items for increased potential in the burst. The cooldown has also changed from a previous range of 11-7 seconds to a new range of 10-6 seconds. Additionally, bonus minion damage of her Q was reduced from 55-259 to 50-237, reducing her wave clear chance by half and making it tougher for her to farm against opponents who could pressure her in the lane.
  • R (Vanguard’s Edge): Her ultimate no longer provides cooldown reduction for her Q. After using Irelia’s R, players cannot count on having a reset mechanic to get them back into the fight as much as they once could.

Kai’sa

  • Passive (Second Skin): The on-hit base damage was toned down from 5-23 to 4-24. Also, the on-hit AP scaling was reduced from 15% to 12%. Bonus damage per stack of her passive changed from 1-12 to 1-6. However, bonus AP per stack scaling has increased from 2.5 to 3%, so now you can have even better scaling when crafting AP items at the reduction of damage to the base. Detonation base damage has also been reduced to 8-48 from 9-71 and the ratio between detonation and the AP of the player is decreased, now being 24% instead of 25%.

Sivir

Sivir will receive a buff focused on making her a more viable ADC pick.

  • Her base AD currently sits at 60, up from 58.
  • Q (Boomerang Blade): will deal an enormous amount of damage to the enemies, with base range now rising from 15-75 to 60-180. The AD ratio was also changed from an earlier range of 80-100% total AD scaling up to now strictly based on bonus AD at a full rate of 100%.

Xayah

Xayah will receive minor buffs to make Xayah feel stronger while in trades but remain competitive to most ADCs.

  • W (Deadly Plumage): the previous bonus AD now scaling from 20% to 25%.
