Atlanta FaZe were dethroned by LA Thieves at the recent season-concluding Call of Duty League Championship 2022. The winners of the last CoD Major tournament overtaken their rivals FaZe with a 3-2 score.

The amateur CDL Challengers Finals 2022 has too come to an end, with Iron Blood Gaming taking the title.

LA Thieves claim Call of Duty League Championship 2022

CDL Championship 2022 run from August 4-7, featuring the world’s top eight Call of Duty teams in a battle for a massive $2,550,000 prize pool. At first, fans weren’t sure about the success of LA Thieves, as their performance wasn’t perfect during the previous stages of the event. However, the team managed to recover and fought their way in the upper bracket up to the finals, defeating Boston Breach, OpTic Texas and Atlanta FaZe along the way. Moreover, thanks to the map advantage in the Grand Final as a result of their successful seeding, they’ve chosen their best map — Gavutu Hardpoint and Control game mode. With that, they took advantage over FaZe with ease and claimed the title.

This was the first CDL Championship victory for Thieves’ players Kenneth “Kenny” Williams, Dylan “Envoy” Hannon, Zack “Drazah” Jordan, and Sam “Octane” Larew, as well as for the organization, and their second prestigious CDL victory, following the Stage 4 Major win back in July. Moreover, Thieves’ Kenny was crowned the MVP of the event.

Iron Blood Gaming win Call of Duty Challengers Finals 2022

Apart from the 2022 CDL season, the CDL division for younger teams too concluded during the Championship weekend, crowning Iron Blood Gaming as the winners, who have overtaken Ultra Academy NA in the Grand Final with a 3-2 score.

Call of Duty Challengers Finals 2022 united eight amateur CoD teams from all around the world to fight for $250,000 in prize money. The format of the competition saw a best-of-five series including familiar Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Control game modes with a bunch of Vanguard maps. However, the event’s organization got into a bit of a pickle, while fans were amused by the photos below.

The whole event setup didn’t have a space for in-person viewers and no stage with a big screen, even though people were allowed to come and watch the game. As a result, the whole crowd of fans was staying behind the players’ backs and watching the competition on their screens.
