KRÜ Esports has advanced to the Semifinals stage of the on-going Valorant Championship Tour happening in Berlin, after defeating Team Fnatic in their last quarterfinals game yesterday. The Argentine team had earlier on, defeated Cloud9 Blue and Vision Strikers.

They had had a tough time during the group play as Team Liquid defeated them in their first match. Luckily and with a lot of hard work invested, they snatched a win from FURIA in Group B, and proceeded to dismantle Sentinels with another incredible win. The quarterfinals match between KRÜ and Fnatic began with KRÜ choosing the Haven map.

Map 1: Haven

The first two rounds were pretty intense. Fnatic played offense, and quickly won both rounds, but KRÜ made a slight comeback in the third round. In round 4, Klaus gave an impressive performance as he dismantled a quad to bring the game to a tie. KRÜ maintained the momentum in round 5 and they won the round impressively. That double victory was a wakeup call for Fnatic. They hit KRÜ hard all through the remaining rounds, and ended the half with an 8-4 glowing scoresheet.

KRÜ won the 14th and 15th rounds after Fnatic had again dominated them in the pistol round. Fnatic also won the 16th round after they defused the Spike, but the Argentine team waxed stronger all through the remaining rounds of the half. In the 17th round, Keznit shattered a duo that tried to take him down, and his team continued the momentum and remained victorious in the next two rounds.

With only one round remaining for Fnatic to win the map, KRÜ staggered back to life, and won three rounds consecutively, thereby dragging the game into overtime. Taking the winning momentum into overtime, KRÜ won the first round and almost wrapped it up, but Fnatic managed to win the 26th round. However, it seemed like KRÜ’s victory was already written in gold, as they inevitably won the map after winning the last two rounds.

Map 2: Icebox

Next, Fnatic took the game to the second map Icebox. Hurt and hot from all the disintegration they suffered on the previous map, they dominated the first half of the game and defeated KRÜ 10-2. In round three, Keznit, once again, tried to be his team’s knight in shining armor. He managed to win an ace in round three, but KRÜ could hardly maintain that momentum.

Fnatic was not done. They won the second half’s pistol round, and although KRÜ gave a push back, winning rounds 14 and 15, Fnatic stamped their feet to the ground. They unleashed terror on the South American side in round 16 by defusing the Spike. KRÜ almost won the map after they claimed victory in the next two rounds, but round 19 swung in Fnatic’s favor, thus the game had to move to map three on Split.

Map 3: Split

It was a lethal battle as the game advanced to the next map. In the first half, KRÜ tightened up their defense and made Fnatic go through a burning furnace at each stage of the map. Fnatic also dished out their fair share of brutality. Both teams took turns winning rounds, but KRÜ was always a step or two ahead, and in the end, they won the half 7-5.

As they advanced to offense, KRÜ won rounds 1, 2 and 3, to increase their winning margin to 10-5. In round 16, Fnatic defused the Spike to stop the bleeding, but KRÜ wasn’t done. They won another two rounds and the game almost ended until Fnatic came back strong in two rounds. They defused the Spike in rounds 19 and 20, and snatched the victory in those rounds.

But KRÜ had fought too hard to let this victory slip off their fingers. In round 21, they staggered to B site and over there they finished off their opponent, and shot their way into the semifinals. This marked the end of the road for Fnatic, while KRÜ will now proceed to play with Gambit Esports in a Semifinal encounter on 11th December.
