Following professional career which spanned over 10 years, JKap has announced that he has retired from Call of Duty. Widely regarded as one of the games best ever players, the American veteran revealed that he is moving on to another challenge, with some having already suggested that this will be stepping into the world of coaching.

Former team Optic Gaming now find themselves with seven registered players, which given the fact that Call of Duty has reverted back to a 4v4 style of play, the organisation could well look to cut additional players in the near future.

What Has JKap Achieved in His Time in Call of Duty?

Now aged 26, Jordan “JKap” Kaplan played for the likes of Team envy, FaZe Clan, Evil Geniuses and Optic during his career, winning a host of tournaments in his time, including the Call of Duty World League Championship in both 2015 and 2016. Having started his career in 2010 with Xtravagant in Modern Warfare 2 alongside the likes of Raymond “Rambo” Lussier and Will “BigTymeR” Johnson, JKap quickly made a name for himself, regularly being among the main contenders for the biggest prizes in the business.

JKap Adds to the List of Retired Call of Duty Players

JKap is the latest Call of Duty pro to announce his retirement, with former Optic Gaming legend Damon “Karma” Barlow having done so back in June this year, with the Canadian-born star being the first player to have won three World Championship titles. JKap has so far made no comment on what his immediate future holds, including whether a move into coaching is a possibility, however a number of teams would undoubtedly be interesting in acquiring his services in some capacity.

JKap became the first player to reach three consecutive Call of Duty World Championship Grand Finals in 2017, where alongside SlasheR, Apathy and John, Team Envy eventually came unstuck against Karma’s Optic in the Final, denying Kaplan a third successive victory in the competition. JKap has certainly done well for himself over the years, earning estimated winnings of almost $500,000 during his time in Call of Duty.
