Leading organisation G2 Esports broke the news that Audric “JaCkz” Jug had been benched from its official CS:GO roster, with Francois “AmaNEk” Delaunay set to fill the void left by his compatriot.

G2 announced the arrival of world class rifler Nikola “NiKo” Kovac from FaZe Clan just a matter of weeks ago, however with the organisation now wishing to follow in the footsteps of many of their rival in terms of adopting a six-man roster, they were left with a decision regarding the futures of JaCkz and AmaNEk.

How G2 Decided Upon Who to Release

In fact, the organisation to the step of pitting the two Frenchman against each other in order to determine who would remain an active part of the G2 roster, based on their previous performances, potential and clutch ability. JaCkz had played a key role in helping G2 reach the semi finals of the IEM Beijing Haidian 2020, however it was AmaNEk’s performances at the BLAST Premier Fall Series 2020 and DreamHack Masters Winter 2020 that eventually swung things in his favor.

After making what was undoubtedly a difficult decision, G2 Esports Team Manager Jerome “NiaK” Sudries had the following to say: “When NiKo arrived, we made it clear that our goal was not to explore a six-man roster. We had six players with different profiles and qualities, so our goal was to determine which combination would work best on the field. It’s all about balance and synergy, and even if we can anticipate certain things, the server is always the best judge. Our test focused on JACKZ and AMANEK, and we quickly realized that our system benefited more from François’ qualities. So it is with a heavy heart that we decided to remove JaCkz from the active roster, and allow him to explore his options for 2021.”

What Does the Future Hold for JaCkz?

It is likely that a host of teams will be interested in acquiring the services of JaCkz following the decision by G2, who are letting the 28-year-old explore all available options. The veteran has played a major role in helping G2 in achieving many of their goals since his arrival at the organisation in November 2018, while the Frenchman has experience of competing for the likes of 3DMAX, EnVyUs and Epsilon France prior to this.
