WB games has just announced that Mortal Kombat is happening for Mortal Kombat 1 Pro Kompetition. The brand new global esport tournament will be featuring a massive prize pool of $255,000. This will be the most exciting game competition that will be held in East Coast Throwdown by NRS Esports.
The Pro Kompetition will progress to the final Kombat World Championship where there are 20 top players from around the world that will battle for the ultimate title and prize pool.
Your Path to Mortal Kombat Glory
For a player to be able to qualify in the tournament championship. One requirement is to prove your skills first. To enter in the Final Kombat, start proving your skill by joining the Kompetition leaderboard, or you can simply win a Regional League Final. However, in this tournament, it featured an intense 1v1 battle for the double elimination bracket.
There will be 4 exciting Pro Kompetition events where you can compete and participated in these events, then you’ll automatically have the chance to earn a coveted spot in the final Kombat World Championship and compete for the title:
- East Coast Throwdown

- CCXP/Comic Con Experience in São Paulo
- Combo Breaker in Illinois
Qualify Through Regional Leagues
3 regional programs with sub-regions are also in the tournament, and each region will have online qualifiers and a final tournament.
Top 8 players in every region will compete for the Regional Final. So, whoever wins will automatically secure a spot for the Final Kombat World Championship. These regions are:
- North American League
- Interkontinental Kombat
- Liga Latina
Win the Championship
Setting the stage for the Final Stage Championship features a competitive format to play. There will be a 20th spot where the players will dominate their skill in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). This tournament will be registered for a first come first serve and there will be 256 players to battle it out in the double elimination bracket.
Then the winner will proceed to the group stage with only 20 players divided into 4 groups of 5 players each. The groups will be decided by qualification and leaderboard ranking. This will be the battle for an all-play-all format. Then, 8 players in a final tournament will decide the winner. Their order will depend on how they did in their group.
