IEM Dallas 2023: Invited teams

ESL has announced the list of invited teams for IEM Dallas 2023. Heroic and Team Liquid have been invited to IEM Dallas 2023 this year.

The tournament will take place in Texas, USA, from May 29 to June 4 – just over a week after the conclusion of the BLASTT.tv Paris Major. The LAN in the Lone Star State event will feature 16 teams who will compete for the largest share of the $250,000 prize pool.

Of course, the top four ranked teams in the world will take part in the tournament, with G2 Esports, Heroic, Team Liquid, and FaZe Clan among the teams deemed to be clear favorites. They will all try to get their hands on the trophy, but in the end, only one of them can make it.

Team FaZe Clan, led by Finn “karrigan” Andersen, will have a chance to win the Intel Grand Slam at this event if they don’t make it at ESL Pro League Season 17 or IEM Rio.

Rounding out the North American invited teams are Complexity and Evil Geniuses, who have the opportunity to take part in the event due to their partner status with the ESL, while Sanzhar “neaLaN” Iskhakov and co. have accepted the invitation to be “Local Heroes”. Another local team will be at the Closed Qualifier North America, which will be held on March 4-5.

FURIA is the only South American team on the list, while the Outsiders are the only announced CIS team at the moment. MOUZ and ENCE complete the list of invited teams. Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer’s squad reached the finals of last year’s IEM Dallas 2022 and will be competing with a different roster this time along with Guy “NertZ” Iluz and Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia.

The team that should also be on the team list is Cloud9, who won the 2022 tournament. Another invitation will come in the next few months based on the ESL world rankings. Two teams from Europe and one team each from North America, South America and Oceania have the chance to take part in the tournament in Texas in several regional qualifiers.
