Huskerrs Replaces Symfuhny as NRG Call of Duty Streamer

American Esports organisation NRG have made changes to their streaming roster, with Jordan “HusKerrs” Thomas having joined the team following the departure of Mason “Symfuhny” Lanier. Having been operating under the banner of NRG for some 18 months, Symfuhny announced on social media that his contract would not be extended, despite his position as one of the industries leading content creators.

Why NRG Signed HusKerrs as a Streamer

NRG wasted little time in finding his replacement, with HusKerrs having been signed after the former Rogue pro decided to focus solely on Call of Duty streaming back in April this year. The American is undoubtedly one of the most popular streamers in the Call of Duty Warzone scene, demonstrating that NRG are looking to make major waves themselves. With NRG owning the Chicago Huntsmen team, the leading name in the CDL 2020 season, big things are expected in the future from the organisation.

HusKerrs is playing competitive Warzone too, which has led to many assuming that NRG are bracing themselves for the global competitive scene, should it emerge. HusKerrs played Blackout for Rogue, helping him to amass total tournament earnings of some $135,000. With over 400,000 subscribers on Twitch at present, the move to NRG should help to boost his profile too.

What Does the Future Hold for Symfuhny?

Following his departure from NRG, it has already been rumoured that Symfuhny could be set to join 100 Thieves in a similar capacity. While no comment on such a move has been made by either the organisation or the streamer himself, it could well be mutually beneficial for both parties. Lanier has over 2.4 million Twitch subscribers to his name, putting him among the most popular Call of Duty Warzone content creators around.
Call of Duty Warzone as a whole has allowed for many content creators to make their mark, with the games ever increasing community potentially justifying the launch of a global competitive scene in the near future. However, until this becomes a reality, it is Activision and Infinity Ward who will have to combat against hackers and cheats surrounding the game.
