How to win Dota 2 matches with Dazzle

Dazzle is one of the strongest support heroes of the current Dota 2 meta. His abilities are useful from the start of a match to its end, even if it lasts for 60 minutes. And his contribution is often critical, even though the cores are the ones carrying his team to victory.

Dazzle is one of those rare supports that can be played in a hyperaggressive way. You have a slight movement speed bonus over most offlaners and you can quickly enhance it with a Wind Lace. Within minutes of starting the game, the enemy offlaner has no option but to retreat whenever you try to fight him. And that’s what wins you the lane.

The strengths of Dazzle

In the laning phase, this hero feels a lot like Bane, in the sense that you can get close and deal damage knowing that you almost always have more firepower than your opponent. It’s enough to use your Poison Touch and the damage is increased significantly.

Furthermore, each time you attack, the debuff is refreshed, dealing 16 damage per second at level one! And that’s 16 damage on top of the 55-60 attack damage that you usually have.

Because of this early power spike, your strategy should be to force exchanges. You will take damage but the opponent will also take damage. Meanwhile, your carry will farm wave after wave, feeling safe thanks to your actions. And the enemy will lose waves, burning gold on consumables and fearing you more and more.

The items that you should buy early are these:

• Clarity (especially against melee heroes)
• Healing Salve
• Tango
• Wind Lace
• Boots
• Medalion of Courage
• Urn of Shadows

Mid game

During the mid phase of the game, when battles start to happen, your goal is to cast your Q as early as you can and then wait for the appropriate moment to save your teammates. In Dota 2, team fights are one with a few simple tactics. One of them is to eliminate an enemy hero at the start of the fight and then play 5 vs. 4.

Knowing this, you must always search for a safe spot from where you can cast Shallow Grave on one of your teammates. Ideally, you should never be in a position where you need to burn it on saving yourself.

If you gain enough gold, make sure you buy yourself a Force Staff or a Glimmer Cape. This will give you more tools to save your teammates.
