How to unlock Fortnite free Halloween skins in Fortnitemares 2025

Epic Games has released the Fortnitemares 2025 event, featuring new Halloween-related prizes and limited-time tournaments that enable players to earn new skins similar to last year. Scheduled from October 9 to November 1, Fortnitemares 2025 hosts some acclaimed outfits: Jason Voorhees and Wednesday Addams, alongside new cosmetics and gameplay options.

Fortnite free Halloween skins: Free Skins from Haunted Cups

The most significant aspect of Fortnitemares 2025 is the Haunted Cups. Timed tournaments consist of players participating in order to earn either the Jason or Wednesday Addams skins before they move to the Item Shop. Each Cup will be placed in Reload mode in the Duos playlist, which has players in every major region.

The Jason Haunted Cup is on October 16, and the Wednesday Addams Cup is on October 23. Players must be able to achieve eight points during the event to earn a themed emoticon or spray, increasing their chance of being in the top regional placements that earn them the skin(outfit). Players in the top 150 in Asia and Oceania, as well as the top 850 in Europe, will have the opportunity to earn the full outfit, while some players will earn a themed emoticon or spray. Epic will advertise how the scoring system works, but note, a victory royale earns 10 points, a top 10 finish will be lower, but a player can earn +1 for an elimination.

More Free Halloween Rewards

In addition to the Haunted Cups, players can unlock the Pyg the Butcher skin by reaching 15 account levels throughout the event, and more free rewards, like a back bling and pickaxe accompanying the skin, will also be available. Fortnitemares will provide Twitch Drops as well, where viewers watching Fortnite streams have a chance to receive exclusive accessories, including the Treat Sack back bling and Treat Axe pickaxe.

All free content and participation opportunities for the Cup will be available until November 1, 2023. The Jason and Wednesday Outfits will launch in the Item Shop after the Cups conclude, allowing players to obtain the Skins even if they can’t compete. Players are encouraged to log in and participate early during the event window to guarantee their spot, especially since leaderboard competitions are expected to be high.

2025 marks Fortnite’s ongoing trend of blending together seasonal cosmetics with competitive events by providing rewards for casual players and committed competitors.
